#17cmc: I know you're new here, so I've been lenient with the posting rules for this forum, but for more answers to your questions (and so they're in their proper place) why don't you start posting these directly-engine/powertrain-related Q's in the Windsor Power Forum? This forum is to shoot the poop and talk about general BS; it's not geared (pardon the pun) towards talking about engines, transmissions, etc.

Indirectly, balancing will affect your TQ & HP. It takes energy to excite the harmonics, energy that could be work to the wheels instead of vibration. Do I have quantifiable amounts? No, but drive a car with an unbalanced engine vs one with a balanced engine and you'll see what I mean.
