I think it does look a bit, ok, a lot ricey. But it still should be a pretty sweet movie. Just look at it from a car enthusiasts point of view instead of a domestic or Mustang enthusiasts point of view, right? http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif

I also like how the previews for the Slow and Delerious have the imports making an almost v8 sounding exhaust, and how in one of the previews on tv, a rice boy pulls his foot off the gas and slams the clutch, then they cut to a picture of a car accerating from a stop. The only thing i can think is either its right hand drive (day job as a mail man, explains why it takes forever to get the mail), or someone screwed up editing that scene.

Have you heard a Supra or a 3rd Gen RX7 with exhaust? As far as that scene, they probably transposed the film.

HAHA, i thought i was seeing things when i saw him hit what appeared to be the clutch pedal and then ACCELERATE! Of course that makes about as much sense as making a movie about ricers, but whatever. That right hand drive explanation makes sense, but everything about that movie is phony so what's new.

I don't know about anyone else here but I've never seen a car pull the front wheels while the back ones are spinning. I laugh every time I see the preveiws.

TJR 06-11-2001 08:53 PM

I'll probably see Fast and Furious, but I have a feeling that it will be terrible. The Mopar pulling the front wheels off the ground while smoking the tires is almost as realistic as the jump in Gone in Sixty Seconds (Nicholas Cage version). I almost hate to watch car movies because of how dumb and cheap they make them. I wish a bunch of street racers/car guys would make a film, but it would probably be tough to make a story line that would appeal to the masses.

The movie just looks dumb. If you do see the movie, and if you watch classic movies like Bullit, notice that the cars seem to have an endless number of gears. They're doing like 120+ and they keep shifting. You never hear a downshift, either. It's always a shift up. I think the director doesn't think an audience wants to hear the high pitched whine of high revs for too long so they throw in an upshift.

slowride90, when you pointed out that I had a feet instead of inches for the bore size, I went in and changed it. I was looking at my profile again today to proofread it and I noticed that I had Moroso spelled wrong. When I went back in to change it I noticed that all of the inch marks were foot marks, even the ones I had under exhaust. Even the one I changed last night. I suppose I would need 2 1/2 foot exhaust if I had 4 foot bores. http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif I didn't pay attention, but it may be either when Dan builds the page to edit or when you save the changes, all double quotes are changed to single quotes. A lot of people may have 4 foot bores if they used double quotes to represent inches. I just checked. You have a 5 foot Autometer tach. How can you see out the window? http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif

YES! They do that in ALL car movies, it is soo annoying, cause everytime the cut scenes, you get an upshift!

Even though it's a ricer movie, me and all my friends are going to watch it, and get all pumped up and race each other afterwards. I think it will be fun. Plus they have Limp Bizkit on the sound track. =P I guess we'll take any reason to go roast the tires. =P On an approved saftey track of course. LoL yeah right. See ya.

Quit it's just a movie! Either watch it or not. I would rather have a V8 over a ricer anyday. But just imagine all the ricers after the movie that are gonna think there soooooo bad. =P Just a thought.

That's right....they'll think they are all bad till they try to flex on the group of domestics that all went to the flik together. be careful though, the cops will be swarming the parking lots. I may just tail gate with some of my friends in our tite rides and watch all the rice get pulled over for trying to show off when leaving the movies.
