Favorite beer?

Maybe this topic has been discused before (I'm too lazy to search) but I was wondering what everyone's favorite brand of beer is? For me, it's Sam Adams. Mmmmm. I'm enjoying it as I type :D

Listing favorite liquors is ok too. I'm just curious about what everyone likes.

Dan

I would have made a poll but there are so many diffrent brands it's very hard to widdle it down to 4 or 5.

RBatson 05-12-2003 09:25 PM

Free beer is my very favorite, if I'm buying then its miller lite, Dos Equis(favorite Mexican beer) or St. Pauli Girl(favorite german).

CADreamin 05-13-2003 07:51 AM

Sierra Nevada Pale Ale!!! I like Sam Adams a lot too...

Mass Stang 05-13-2003 07:56 AM

For me its good ole American Budwieser !!!!

8T4SVOChick 05-13-2003 07:59 AM

My favorites are Coors Light or Corona w/lime.

1969Mach1 05-13-2003 09:11 AM

I'm not much of a beer drinker, but I like Slemans (sp?) and Corona. Molson Canadian isn't to bad either. But if I'm going to drink I'd rather have shots of Tequilla or Rye & Gingerale.

-Sam.

Shaun Barcelow 05-13-2003 12:13 PM

I don't drink much of it any more, but some of my favorites are Corona (with lime), Guinness, Anchor Porter, Sam Adams Cherry Wheat, and Bell's Oberon.

I don't know if they still make it, but has anybody here ever had Sam Adams Triple Bock? It could only be sold in certain states due to its alcohol percentage. It came in a cobalt bottle with gold leaf lettering. Very interesting beer. It was brewed with maple syrup. I'd like to know if it's still around.

As long as I'm using the MustangWorks message forums to track down beer (lol), does anybody know if Long Shot is still made. I think it was a micro brew from Ohio. It was, by far, the best beer I had ever had.

CADreamin 05-13-2003 12:23 PM

I tried the SA Triple Bock a few years ago. One of my roomates at Penn State received a case as a Christmas present. It was a very interesting beer. Haven't seen it around lately, but I haven't really been looking either.

Shaun Barcelow 05-13-2003 12:42 PM

Looks like Triple Bock is still available:

This is also a good one, for those of you who like stouts:

Sierra Nevada is good stuff. I like their Pale Ale and Porter best. Their Stout is also tasty.

Sweet Fcking Christ!! That is the worst I have ever had!! But to each his own. I am a Coors Light or a Bud Light.

I remember in college it was "Beast":p

chuck88 05-13-2003 04:01 PM

Budwieser best on tap but in a bottle is good too.

I just cant stand Coors. I cant belive that stuff sells????

(Sorry coors fans, it's jsut my opinion.)

BEER

My favorite has to be Old Makemewalkfuny (milwaukee)

bigred90gt 05-13-2003 05:41 PM

On tap, I would have to say St. Arnolds Amber. In a bottle, it is a toss up between McEwans IPA and Chimay (The white one). As for anything else, CROWN!!!! That is my true poison. Crown on the rocks usually, sometimes I throw in a bit of water.

Caymon

And for all of our Canadian friends, Labatt Blue is really good for a cheap beer, and I bet the bottles are really fun in a bar fight!!!

Blue in Canada and Blue in the USA are 2 different beers.

I like Alexander Keiths. I also don't mind Coors Light if I'm drinking at work (keeps the mind a little clearer)

But I agree with bigred90gt, Crown Royal is my favorite. Although I like it with Diet Pepsi or Gingerale.

Beast!! LOL. In college, we always split between 'beast' and keystone. Not the greatest tasting beer but what do you expect for $10/case?

I'm surprised no one has said Natural Ice yet...

*ducks*

I don't normally drink beer and don't care what it is but most of my friends and family drink Bud Light so I drink that.
I prefer a nice tall glass of Jim Beam with a dash of coke. :D

87BOSS351C 05-16-2003 12:02 PM

Ah, Natty Ice... that stuff scares me almost as much as Hamm's!

I usually just drink Labatt or Bud Lite, although I enjoy a Sam Adams once in a while (draft or poured into a glass from the bottle so it has a chance to breathe a little). SA is not something to chug:D

I have been known to drink the Beast or Old Millwakkee when it is offered free.:(

Sam Adams is actually the worst beer I have ever had as well. It went down okay, but the aftertaste was horrible. I tried a second bottle to see if the first one was a fluke and sadly, it wasn't. The remaining 4 went down the drain.

On to the list:

~New Castle Brown Ale
~Labatt Blue
~St. Paulie Girl
~Becks
~Molsen (Canadian or Ice)
~Heineken
~Bud Ice

I don't really like most American watered down beers (Bud, Miller, Coors, etc.) Coors light is like water and Coors Original, while stronger, tastes like old socks.

If I had to drink a light beer, I guess it would be Miller Light.

Mass Stang 05-16-2003 12:20 PM

BUD-WIES-ER !!!

RedLilPony 05-16-2003 03:36 PM

IF it's free beer, it's good beer!!!! :p

My fav is Shmirnoff Ice though! :)

Sicy Stang 05-16-2003 05:41 PM

Carlsberg import, Carling, 3B's,Guiness, Stellar. As for cider it's; Woodpecker or Strongbow but Scrumpy Jack will do as well. :D :D :D

LX5liter 05-17-2003 12:02 PM

I like Molsen Canadian, but I read about a new beer that is brewed in the USA and sold in Britain, its called Dogfish Head Stout (or something like that) and has 23% alcohol content. One reviewer said that "it doesn't make you falling down drunk, it makes you DEAD drunk, it should be served in smaller servings"
I wouldn't mind trying out a six pack!

NoSlow5.0 05-17-2003 12:29 PM

HONEY BROWN!!!!! Any kind of tequila, and Capt. Morgan

NotchJohnson 05-18-2003 12:00 AM

All time fav. - Kalik Gold. If I have a good amount of money - Heineken. Fair amount of money - miller light or coors light, little to no money - busch.

Favorite beer:
Rolling Rock and Amstel Light

Favorite Liquor:
the Absolute line, lemon Kettle One, Goldschlager, and Raspberry Stoli

any Blue mixed drink and some shot called the Dragon Kiss of Death!

red82gt 05-21-2003 12:10 AM

Kokanee Gold! Good Canadian stuff...
Also, Molson Dry.

Here's a Canadian Beer Joke:
At the world's brewmaster's convention, some of the major breweries's brewmasters went out to a pub. The bartender asked them what they'd like?
The brewmaster from Corona says:
I'll have the greatest brew in the world, the pride of Mexico! A Corona!
The brewmaster from Budweiser says:
I'll have the All-American favorite, the best there is, A Budweiser!
The brewmaster from Heineken says:
I'll have one of Amstedam's calling cards to the world! A heineken!

The brewmaster from Molson says:
I'll have a Coke.

The other brewmasters and the bartender look at him in amazement? You want a coke?
He replies:
I figured that since none of you were drinking beer, I wouldn't either :D :D :D :D
Cheers!

Crazy Horse GT 05-21-2003 01:26 AM

first choice= cold, second choice= free, lol. :D :D :D :D :D

01blacksnake 05-21-2003 12:23 PM

Ugh... I don't know how anyone can drink the domestic crap.

It's cold piss with bubbles!

I usually only drink less than a handful of domestic micro brews, mainly the hefewiezens.

Other than that... I drink the imported German stuff. :)

moosejaw 05-21-2003 07:51 PM

Any wheat beer: SA Cherry Wheat is easiest to find but not AB's heifeweisen. Yuk! they destroyed the name.

Honey Brown by J.W. Dundee is smooth enough to drink in quantity.

And I can't forget the old Guiness. Black and Tan's till you puke!!
The beer you drink with a fork!

I live in St.Louis the home  of A.B. and I hate the beer choices in bars. For you locals you know why growlers does so well. 131 beers available, 32 on tap and 99 bottles on the ......

RED92LX50 05-22-2003 11:19 AM

I have 20 years of beer drinking experience under my belt (so to speak) - and here are my findings:

1. Favorite Feel Good Fast Beer - Natural Ice (5.9%alc)
2. If it's cold and you only want a couple - Guiness or Sam Adams Cream Stout
3. If it's hot and you only want a couple - Woodchuck Cider (5%alc)

Almost all other beer is very good to me... with one exception...

THE WORST BEER EVER - Coors Extra Gold! I am unable to stomach the stuff - even an alcoholic would prefer to go through the shakes rather than drink this stuff!

MustangChelle 05-23-2003 12:11 PM

I think my favorite right now would be Michelob Ultra with a close runner up of Miller Lite

But Mike's Hard Lemonade is great by the pool :)

I tried Woodchuck Cider when visiting a friend in Conn. it was pretty good too.
