OKAY DAMMIT!

I've been trying to burn various 'stuff' onto disks for a week now. I've had it w/ the crap that came on my Crapaque pc. It came w/ the Cequadrant/Just Burn. Now it wont let me format the damn disk to burn.
Anyone got any suggestions for a GOOD, EASY CD burning system that WILL WORK? This is frustrating and I think I kicked something loose in my pc.
Please give me suggestions for a good CD burning system that I can install that is EASY to use and IDIOT PROOF!
If this had worked, Id been in bed 2 hours ago!
