Question Changes at Ford???

The Ford Motor Company will announce the departure of Jacques Nasser as the company’s CEO Tuesday morning according to numerous news reports, a firing that will send tremors throughout the automotive world, and could have ramifications for the racing business as well. Nasser will give up the position that he has held for nearly three years in favor of William Clay Ford Jr., who is the great-grandson of company founder Henry Ford. The ascension of Ford into the CEO position marks the first time in 20 years that a Ford family member has overseen the company. Ford has its tendrils in many different forms of auto racing and it remains to be seen how the new CEO, himself an avowed environmentalist, will affect any changes on the company’s racing outlook.
I got this information off of www.jayski.com and I'm wondering what all you guys think of this and what impact it's going to have on the new cars?

There was an excellent article in the Wall Street Journal yesterday concerning the issues that face the new Ford family member.

Basically, the article sited many of the obvious (and not so obvious) issues that face Ford today:

- the Firestone dibacle, including settling the expensive lawsuits;
- age, race, and other discrimination suits from Ford's own employees;
- quality issues (the article wasn't very specific here);
- employee moral - from the factory worker on up the chain;
- and the big one, stock price which has tanked recently.

It will be interesting to see the direction that Ford takes...will the Mustang get more HP? Will the commitment to quality be re-newed?

I heard something on the news about it. Sounds like Nasser was a moron anyway. They gave him a lot of chances, and the company lost stock price big time. Not good, when the family has control of 40% of the stock, so they just voted his *** out. The new guy (Fords great grandson?) supposedly doesnt have much experience in a lot of areas, but they think he can make it happen, so well find out.

I wouldnt read much into this, or waste time over analyzing it.
