Question Ford Falcon AUXR8 race cars

I watched a touring car race last week on the SPEED channel. It was in Australia and they said it was their version of NASCAR. I did a little research and Ford Australia makes a brand new Ford Falcon (it looks like a Taurus) with a 5.4 liter, 32 valve modular V8 engine option. The Racecar has a 600 hp 5.0, Holinger 6 speed manual gearbox, 9" Ford rearend and a top speed of 186 mph. Anyone know anything else about the Falcon? Why can't we get a 5.4 liter mod motor in a new Mustang?

I think the main reason we don't have those over here is because of the high demand for FWD cars and SUV's. Over there, there is no such thing as an "SUV".....the trend is over here. Over there just about everything they drive has a V8 and is rear wheel drive. Emissions standards are lower, so those vehicles never make their way over here because of that. They may also have lower safety crash standards as well.

That is an awesome car though, they still make the Fairmont as well and have an Ranchero type car (forget name), but there whole car line is awesome....although their truck selection sucks.

Becasue of EPA is my guess they even made a limited edition Falcon several years back with a 347 in it their equivalent of a Cobra R.
