Found another source to get a Boss 302.
I was talking to an owner of a '72 Ford motorhome, because when he pulled up, to me it sounded like a mustang. He told me that it had a 302 Boss in it and that '71 to '74 Ford motorhomes came with those. Now I going to keep my eye open for these rare finds.

Wow this is news to me, and probably alot of people? Why would they of put the 302 Boss into Motorhomes? Great engine and all but why such a performance engine? Hmm... makes you wonder.

Not sure, but it wan't till '75 I think he said that they put in the 390's, I thought it was odd too, but it's good news for us.

How long was this guys nose?
|
are u saying this is all BS?
|
I don't believe him.
|
I know nothing about the boss motor other then it had 10.5:1 compresion, but lets say I found one, how could I tell?
|
I seriously doubt thats true. Those motors were pretty good revvers and i dont think you need an engine that revs high in a motorhome.
|
It would look a whole lot like a 351 cleveland. I believe the deck height is a little lower and their is some difference with the freeze plugs. I know of a couple guys running 351c's in their G codes while the orginal motors were toasted and very few people could tell the difference. Maybe this guy is one of them. Seems more likely they came with closed chamber 2v 351's than a 302. That motor would rev too darn high to make any kind of sense in a motorhome.
But what do I know? |
*LMAO*
There is no such thing, someone was in the sun too long I'm afraid. |
Boss 302 never came in 71 to 74 model motor homes. It may very well have a Cleveland but not Boss Motor. Boss motors are 4 bolt mains and have screw in Freeze plugs..

NO motorhomes never came with BOSS motors!!!
|
Probly a cleveland motor in that motorhome.
|
well, if I ever see him again, I'll let him know that it prob just a 351

I've got a little 1972 Ford motorhome collecting dust and mice at the farm. It has a plain 302 in it.
