Default white face guages look like crap at nite

I just installed white faced gauges, along w/the A/C fan face as well and they look great in the day but real bad at night. They're fuzzy, well lit in some areas not so good in others. I thought I screwed something up but both my gauges and the A/C fan face look bad. Is this normal? Are MAC WFGs crap?

i got the MAC's too. they look pretty weak at night. i noticed mine are poorly illuminated (no light at all)at 40 and 100mph on the speedo. i think you have to do a good job to remove the glue that was left from the original faces, dont remember if i did that or not, damn beer. u will also notice that you should not have taken the needles off the gauges and u can install the new faces w/o removing the needles, live and learn i guess, thats why i picked up some autometer gauges. stock suck anyway. overall i wish i never put the white faces on. waste of time and money.

I think they all look like crap at night. My solution works excellent and looks like the new dash lighting. Put your white gauge covers in but remove the bulbs. Then take a 6" fluorescent 12v lite stick and install in front lip of the plastic cover. You can't see it installed under the lense and you can wire it to the dash lights and it lights up the instruments and just looks great and you can read everything and you have choices of different colors.

I kind of like the reverse glo gauges . White in the day and only numbers and needle visible at night. Not as flashy.
