did i get ripped of part 2..heres the recipt
ok heres the breakdown in parts
1 masterkit-$225 1 axel bearings-48 2 axel seats-10 2 cans paint-14 1 can degreaser-6 4 cans brake cleaner-20 3 90w oil-9 2 posi additive-22 and heres the labor dissable rear and breaks, clean housing-inside and out, weld tubes, rebuild entire diffrential, paint unit so does this sound right??i allredy payed him but i can go back and talk to him thanks guys keep in mind i gave him new axles, diff, gears, diff cover and a complete out of car rearend ------------------ 1987 black notch(ex 4 banger) DSS 306 w/ main support...Elderbrock 6028 heads..gt-40 intake..24# injectors...70 mm tb..77 pro-m...accel 300+..mac full legnth..tremec w/ pro5oh...full MAC exhaust,off road h-pipe,long tubes, catback...ron davis radiator..subframes, control arms...CFDF II..o yea holley FPR sucks..dont buy one.. In my opinion, no you didn't really get ripped off. I bought a set of 3.73's a few months back and took them to the cheapest quote that I could find. It turns out that one of my posi plates was broken and one of my axles was pitted pretty badly. I wound up paying $700 for installation of gears plus a used stock axle and bearings, etc. Basically a whole new rearend. That's not including the cost of the gears. Now that I read what you paid, I'm pissed because I didn't just go the route you did and just get mosers too. Just my $.02

geez, i just got an estimate for installing new 3:73's and posi differential, that was $1000.00...

You can buy a brand new rear end from ford with any gears you want for $643 I think, no axles..but...

I got my 4:10's installed w/ new bearings and my posi rebuilt for $225. I supplied posi clutches, gear oil, gears, bearings, and fric. mod. the axels have to come out anyways, and carrier too, seems like alot to me

Hmmm... did he jig the axle when he welded it? I suppose welding the tubes up then making sure the axle was true would add to the cost significantly. I didn't have my axle tubes welded, but if you count the fact that my axle was powder coated and the gear install costs 300 bucks those two alone account for 650 bucks on my bill
