Back from TnT I am liking the E-cam now!
O’My god I’m stoked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
I just shattered every record I have at the TnT at Eunice. The track was hooking!! I wont hold you in suspense so here are the details. Timing =14 for all runs except where noted 39psi of fuel pressure. #47 NOS(~60hp) jet (if the run is over 112 it was a NOS run) bottle at 950-1000psi Nittos at 20 psi. Now to the good stuff. from fastest to slowest. I hope this formats right. ET. @mph 60ft Notes 13.440@97.788 1.919 Missed 3rd 13.090@108.721 1.938 Missed 4th 12.937@107.466 1.898 Missed 4th ,Forgot to move seat forward first 3 runs *12.802@111.762 1.979 Spun pretty good Fastest MPH N/A 18* of timing ,last run 12.727@110.493 1.912 12.539@110.520 1.749 Started heating the piss outa the Nitto’s for all the runs from here 12.468@98.001 1.742 let out a bit , *** in front of me was coming over a bit at the top 12.368@111.602 1.706 timing @ 18 ,second to last run Fastest N/A 60 ft *12.343@109.523 1.706 Cool, the ET and 60ft was almost identical. Fastest N/A ET ever 12.277@115.512 1.843 12.224@114.612 1.784 12.160@114.919 1.770 I’m getting excited about possibly breaking into the 11’s here 12.129@115.569 1.884 12.126@114.410 1.784 *12.040@114.704 1.683 Fastest 60 ft Ever 11.983@115.060 1.707 11.890@115.251 1.687 Fastest ET Ever Yes you counted right 17 passes ( I threw away 1 some where so 18) I about shiot when I got the slip for the first 12.3 I was shaking on the way back to the pits every body thought I was a freak cause I couldnt stop. They are pretty close to the order runned xcept the two 111 mph passes I bumped up the timing on the last 2 runs I power shifted 2-3 and 3-4 for most of the runs, but a few of the first N/A and NOS runs. In reflection: I know how to make the car hook now (the nitto’s just needed a little beating) I finally hit some low 12’s N/A It has some serious power as reflected by N/A MPH (I take back all I’ve said about Motorsport cams) Didnt do much tuning cept drving and launching tweaking.and didnt have a chance to try the .53 jet(~90hp) I am driving an 11 sec car now :-P And Again, O’ Wow This was a good day,I guess I need to change my sig. ------------------ A.K.A. It looks like you learned that minor tuning and practicing runs and launching can drastically help your et's. Dont be so quick to bad mouth a combination or part (camshaft, for example) before you really have everything worked out, and you know you sqeaked everything you can out of it first.

I am envious too, my car doesn’t run much faster than that and I have a lot more mods than him.
I am really thinking about carbureting mine to see if that helps. WTF did you do to make your mustang so fast? ------------------ James Cox nochevy@hotmail.com 1991 Mustang LX Best 1/8 time on motor 7.686 @90.20mph [This message has been edited by Five0 (edited 01-07-2001).] |

yep, still the stock TB(maybe a 70mm in the future cause I can get a good deal on it).
Sky, Dont get discouraged I posted that for encouragment for my self as well as every body else.I think your car is just really heavy.I'm sure your car is close to 300 lbs heavier than mine(3040 w/o driver).Remeber 100 lbs= 1mph,and you have to race it.I have done little tunning to the car since I put it back together. You need to get out on the track and run it. I gained most of the time in my launching and driving.I am pretty sure I can get 11's out N/A with some slicks ,new axle's and some more agressive driving.I'm sure the long tubes ,a no cat X-pipe and 50 more lbs off thats been sitting in my shop wont hurt either. It is a road race/auto-Xr so I look at performance not only in power (straight line speed only) but in weight saving's (will help all aspect's of perfomance accl, breaking, cornering and even Fuel efficiency). I still think the E-cam wasn't the greatest idea but the power band of the motor is much higher so I can stay longer in a gear.which is the reason I used to could barly walk my brother in his 106 mph 4 valvle cobra. Now last time we raced he accused me of spraying him (by at least 6-7 cars at the top of 4th).I pulled over on the side of the road and poped the hatch and said their punk :-) pointing to the empty bottle bracket. He just smiled, got back in his car and hasn't said anything. He'll have my a$$ when he finally get's the blower on that thing, thought. BTW, I almost forgot, the weather was good, 70's 70%humidity and sunny so the track was warm, it either was hooking really well or I just got the tires sticky enuf. ------------------ A.K.A. Jason- How come you switched to the E-303 from the B-303? Feel any differences?
Skywlker- I'm not discouraged, I just have poured so much ash into this ***** and it keeps running slow. I mean its not slow, but obviously not performing like your car. I wonder if the 70mm TB is hurting me.. Hmm.. Also what are you shift and launch points on your car? HOw did you get your car down to 3040? What did you do for weight savings? My car weights 3280 with no gas. And I added subframes so now its probably about 3300. I havnt done anythign to save weight. Heavy *** POS. Also what kind of suspension are you using. I can't cut better than a 1.98 60' with 11.5" ET Streets and I heated the **** outta them and launched good. It just spins em if I try to launch any harder. I'm gonna do that too. FiveO- Whats your car got done to it? 90mph in the 1/8th is about 112 in the 1/4 isn't it? Thats damn good. Or what does your time equate to in 1/4. I'm also wondering if my 70mm TB is hurting me. I've heard of people doing 2-3mph better with a 65 over a 70. I wonder. I could put my stock one on and see what happens. Anyone out there wanna trade a 70+ EGR for a 65+EGR and maybe a little cash? FiveO- Whats your car got done to it? 90mph in the 1/8th is about 112 in the 1/4 isn't it? Thats damn good. My 1/4 mile times should be around 11.98 @113mph, I also have a 150 hp shot of NOS that I have not got to run at the track yet.
My mod’s are: stage2 Canfield heads, trick flow track heat intake, Comp cams (Duration 224/230@.050) (lift .544 w/1.7) (lobe separation 112), 1.7 roller rockers, MSD Digital 6+, MSD Coil, Under drive race pulleys, 75mm mass air, 65mm throttle body, 30# injectors, 255lph fuel pump, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, headers, 2 chamber flowmasters, 2 ½” offroad’s, k&n, 3.55 gears, weld drag light rims, 90/10 drag struts, 50/50 shocks, Southside machine upper and lower control arms, sub frame connectors, 6 point roll cage, ram clutch, aluminum drive shaft, auburn pro differential, 31 spline axels, aluminum radiator, Jacobs wires, 5" tach, and 5 point harness. I left out a few small things. ------------------ James Cox nochevy@hotmail.com 1991 Mustang LX Best 1/8 time on motor 7.686 @90.20mph |

The only weight saving's I've done is take out the back seat and seat belts 35lbs.Alminum heads, pull the sway bar for the strip,GT-40 intake about 8lbs lighter, take off the dog bone from the rear end, aluminum drive shaft and took the extra pad outta the rear trunk mat.
I have a set of coil overs going on as well as some tubular front control arms ,ditching the cat X-pipe and a dyna batt. I'll prolly be back right were I am cause I have the long tubes and cobra 13" breaks waiting to go on too. I'am looking for a stock carbon fiber hood some where but cant find one. I will settle for a glass one but it must be stock appearing. Anyone know where I can find one? I launch at around 2500, walk out the clutch and shift at an indicated 6300-6400 so prolly around 5700-5800 actual. I have the stock springs with monroe GP shocks and struts, F5 control arms and will be putting the KB anti squat brackets back on the rear when I put the front coil overs on. I have the KB chassis control package as well. ------------------ A.K.A.
