For my 18th birthday i got to drive my nieghbors, i was not at all impressed by it, for my graduation party, i drove my cousins 2000 porsche 911 turbo and i was much more impressed with that. but after driving my dads 11 second 82 mustang gt drag car for a hobbie, i guess that not much will impress you,

I never liked the Vipers until the GTS came out. Cool car.

I getting married in June and will be going to Hawaii for the honeymoon. There's a place that rents "exotic" cars. They have a Corvette convertible, and old Viper, and a Ferarri 355........I'd love to drive the Ferarri. Who know's, maybe I can post a pic of myself in an Italian hotrod! http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif

Hey bigwhitecobra, did the viper feel faster than your foxbody stang? I think they run similar times but your stang might be faster. Dan I could only dream of annihlating a viper....

FivepointOH, there's not much you can't annihilate when you're driving a mid 9-second car (ok, well mid 10-second in street trim with less boost, but you get the point). So, I basically creamed a Viper with a car that with its current set-up runs mid-10's and is at 600 HP.

It would have been interesting to do it again in race trim though. So, let me stick in the C16 gas, change pullies on the NOVI (18-psi), and switch EEC calibrations and pump it up to ~800 HP. But, some how I don't think the guy driving the Viper would want another go... http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/tongue.gif

In other thoughts, buddha is right. There are some places in California and Palm Springs, etc. that actual rent exotic cars. Imagine renting a Diablo for the day. Now that would be totally cool! Yeah, my Mustang will kill it in a drag race, but the beauty of a car like that is its an ALL AROUND package. It would out handle my car at a whim probably, and do it at 200 MPH too. These kind of cars aren't awesome to drive because of ET, they are dream machines because they have quite a bit of everything (acceleration, ET, top end, handling, and looks). Also, there's the fact that you're getting to drive something that is out of reach of 95% of the general public (and most likely yourself too). http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/wink.gif

The Viper I drove was nice, and I'd take one any day of the week. However, there is no chance that I would ever give up the GT. The GT is just too sweet.
Recently, I have suffered a broken piston ring, and have not been able to rebuild the engine.
Also, I have debating on dropping in a 351W with the same basic set-up. I can only imagine what a 351 with a 14# Vortech would do on a track, but my guess would be a sub-10sec run.
Anyway, more to come on that. Later.
