headed for the track, guesses??
I'm headed for the track in the cobra. I think I'll run between 13.8 and 14.3, what do you guys think. I'll post the results tomorrow. Cobra is stock except for K&N, its a vert too.

I'm betting 14.00 to 14.10. I've raced a couple of 4.6 Cobra verts on the street and just barely beat them. They were bone stock, I believe. Let us know how yours did.

I have to agree with rev. 14.10

I got 3 runs the best was a 14.6@99mph http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/frown.gif. The 60ft was over 2.5. I need to ditch these Ohitsu tires and practice my launch http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/frown.gif. Bad wheel spin, I'm ashamed..

I can sympathize... we've all had those days I'll bet!! Look forward to your next run!! http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif Good luck!

99mph isnt bad at all, and thats what really counts.

get some decent rubber on it and you hit 13 for sure, the 99 mph shows good hp even with a heavy vert.

Was the track well prepared with lots of VHT on it? I've been out before when nobody could hook. We all just sat there and spun off the line. Can't really count those et's except as experience. Might consider some suspension mods and maybe drag radials (at least for the track). With a 99 trap, I know you can run a 14.0XX.

This was my first time at the track in 2 years and the very first with a manual. I don't know about the traction for everyone else but I was sidestepping and was even told the rear end hopped on my first past. The second pass I calmed down 'alittle' and did better, still spinning though: 2.563(60ft), 6.488(330), 9.623(1/8)@77.55, 14.604@99.77. I was too darn excited and couldn't stop spinning http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/frown.gif. The last pass I let the air down close to 30psi and thought I could launch alittle harder and I was wrong- worst pass of the 3. Not making excuses but, stay away from Ohitsu tires. The tire dealer told me they were good tires, I spin worst in 1st, 2nd and 3rd with the 275 Ohitsu than I did with the 245 zr1s.
Anyhow, thanks for making me feel better about screwing up http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif It is embarrassing, I left right after that 3rd pass. I need to take it back up there on a tune night(more passes) and see what I can get out of it. The 89 will be the main track vehicle though. |
