Here I was the one to get u to post here, and I didn't even post a Welcome message-lol.

It's great to hear about your car, sounds like my '66 used to be. I sold it for $3000 just a month ago all primer, but all kinds of mods under the hood. No rust, but both rear quater panels needed replacing.

I got mine for $3,500 about 6 months ago. No mods. No rust. And no pannels needed to be replaced, except for the rear valance, there was a new replacement in the trunck waiting to be put on. No mods under the hood, welll, racing cam shaft. BUT! In 1 day there was a horrible, and I mean horrible oil leak and 3 days later the engine blew. Turns out the taming chain cover (I believe that's what it was) was missing pieces.

Well, I have more news on my car.

Went in the shop Monday, it overheated and blew a head gasket. Well, it urns out, on top of that the block cracked and one of the pistons broke also. So, the engine has to be replaced AGAIN!!!

This will be the 4th engine in this car, the 3rd we've put in! :(

We're on the look out, through friends and anyone else w/ an egein they wanna sale for like $500. The mechanic, could put a $2,000 one in for us. ($500 for the block, and the rest I don't know where it goes, labor?) Anyways, this sucks!!! :mad:

Fiance REALLY wants to get rid of my car now. :mad: I wish there was some kind of engine fairy.

We can't afford to go through engines like this Fiance says it's cuz of his bad luck with cars. I think it's cuz he just doesn't want to pay to do it right. We should have bought the shroud long ago, but he wanted to seee if he could get it cheap. And now that we finally bought it, it's too late, plus he bought the cheapest one he could find. He just doesn't get it!!!

Don't feel bad hun, I've done the same thing! I took the cheap way out enough times when I first got my car that now I have to pay 2x to fix it!

Sad thing is...I paid the "right" price for my engine, and she STILL doesn't run right :mad: I think I'd be less angry if I had paid 1/2 of what I did :p You just gotta find yourself a mechanic that CARES about the quality of his work, and make hubby understand that with cars, you do indeed get what you pay for!

EDIT: Well, maybe you SHOULD sell her, and buy a newer Mustang! :)

That's the thing. He DOES care about those kinds of things. He has a Porsche 928S4 that he loves and takes care of. Plus, he hates American cars. Plus he's really sick of this one breaking down on us, of course, if we bought the shroud and better radiator, and water pump, and blades etc in the beginning we wouldn't be in this mess. So ya, it's still his fault. = P hehe

I like the look of the old ones better.

If I get rid of this one, I'll want another one, or a Saturn. I've had an odd love for Saturns ever since like 4th grade. LoL

(Saturn) My friend Rob has one. When ever he has like 5 other people in the car, and driving fat, 80, it goes "thud thud thud". We believe it's something to do w/ the car. He can get it fixed free, but he's too lazy. I still like em though. I like my jMustang more though. :D
