Which hood???

Well guys I've gotta get a new hood anyway so I thought I'd get a aftermarket, fiberglass one. But I can't decide which one I want. It will go on a Medium Red(dark red) GT vert with a cobra grill and no spoiler.

So which one do you guys like......

Cobra R(3.5"): http://www.designconceptsauto.com/Images/01360_600.gif

Mach 1(1.5"): http://www.designconceptsauto.com/Images/01010_600.gif

Turbo hood(2.5"): http://www.designconceptsauto.com/Images/01070_600.gif

3" cowl: http://www.designconceptsauto.com/Images/01050_600.gif

Well it was a toin coss between the Cobra R, and the Mach 1. I like both of them alot but I'd probably go with the Cobra R, mostly, because I don't see that many around... atleast where I live. I like the Mach 1 aswell. And the Turbo Hood isn't to bad. The cowel is just to common I guess. I like things that are tasteful and orignal. ;)

§am.
Got any pics of your car? I don't believe I've seen any yet!

My Vote --> Cobra R

Go with watcha know

In a situation like this, one that could make or break a bad *** stang, all I can say is "go with watcha know". I couldn't decide on wheels for my car so I just went and got 95 cobra r's. Every one else has em but that's OK because everyone's paint color is different, or interior/exterior colors or different. My point is: Even if you buy the most common product for your stang your gonna know 1. It works! and 2. It will still look different on every car because every car is a lil different!
:D

GOOD LUCK and post pics!

;)

I say you put a 5.5" extended cowl lift off hood on there. **** that small cowl hood **** :)

Dark_5.0 12-05-2002 11:44 AM

My hood looks just like cyberstangs if you have seen his.

Big cowls on vert's with no spoiler looks funny to me.

I would go with the CobraR

Coupe Devil 12-05-2002 12:58 PM

Get the Cobra R with SVO scoop and put a Cobra wing for a Coupe / Vert on it man.... Looks killer.

I voted Mach 1

I like the mach 1 hood the best, even though my car has a 3" cowl hood :D BTW, that reminds me, if anyone wants to trade a mach 1 hood, for the cowl hood I have, PM me. I'm sure whatever hood you deciede on will make your car look better. Take care, Keith

ultraflo 12-05-2002 04:16 PM

I voted for the cowl hood... Cobra R hoods look good on SN-95's not Fox bodies.

Second place... Mach 1 hood, which I just happen to have one in Reef Blue (Cervini, with the air box to make it functional)... not sure how the hell I'd ship the damn thing though. I'd like to sell it locally, but no one has any cash round here these days :(

we have a cobra on our 90GT...it looks really nice...but i think the mach1 would look better....

VeNuM 12-05-2002 07:19 PM

Ultraflo: How much are you willing to let that hood go for? I'm local:) ~Brian

ultraflo 12-05-2002 07:58 PM

Brian, check your PM's ;)

...those are all i have of em...my little brother actually threw em up on MW a little while back when he started learning how to drive on it....it was fun to drive...but i like my new stang more :)...as you can see from the interior pic it hardly covers your line of view on the windshield...although, when we switched to that from the stock hood, it was a BIG change...you do lose about 2 1/2 inches or something...nice hood tho

lol....nice hood eh? :D

...its true though...the cobra svo is probably the nicest out of any of them...

bigred90gt 12-16-2002 01:05 AM

I'd say get the Cobra R or the turbo. I kinda like the turbo hood. They are definately differend, I don't think I have ever seen one on a stang.

drudis 12-17-2002 02:21 PM

3" Cowl

Nothing like the old cowl induction hoods. Nothing to me compares to the presence of a cowl hood on a souped up stang... ;)

Onerare91LX 12-25-2002 11:18 AM

I think I'm going to get a Cobra R for my car. Where is the better place to get a hood www.cervinis.com or www.designconceptsauto.com from what I heard from a guy that has two hoods from design concepts the quality is the same as cervinis, just the back of the cowl is not cut-out with the screened vents. Also design concepts is a lot cheaper.

5.0L_Of_Fury 12-25-2002 12:00 PM

I personally have a 4" Cobra RR SVO scoop hood on my 90 hatch I got 1 more inch that cyberstang....:D.....I would highly recomend it...but MAKE SURE you have a dist. cover...I went thorugh 2 caps b4 I realized when it rains that scoop dump water on it...but another bonus is since I got it...my temp stays down better because air comes in the scoop flows over the motor and bock out the cowl....so dual benifits...looks good and keeps cool...in my case when I go Carbed Im going to make a pan to seal up to the scoop for Ram Air too

XR1stang 12-30-2002 03:06 PM

I would say go with Cervinis but then I'm partial like that. I have the Cervini Stalker hood on my 94 and I think it looks great.

mine looks very much like this (except it's blue and I don't have the same bumper :p )
