How fast is your daily driven car?

How many people here have a car that runs high 12's-low 13's as an every day car.

I do, and though I am sure there are much faster ones out there, mine runs low, low 12's in full street trim (I am sure it would be well into the 11's with slicks and power shifting)and weighing in at around 3700lbs. Also, it is set up for handling so has a very poor suspension for 1/4 mile runs and I am still learning how to drive it at the track... It's too fun not to be a daily driver!! http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/cool.gif

I was talking with PGKelly about how cool it would be to daily drive say, a le-mans car. Jus but rain tires on it and some exh. stuff (cats and muffler).

0-60 in 10 seconds is not fast. I hope your stang is not your daily driver. I had Dodge Colt that would do 0-60 in 10 seconds.

Judging by the speedo, mine does 0-60 in less than 2 seconds on ice.

gt-hunter 06-04-2001 09:21 PM

13.2 so far but I think by the time I'm done (if you include some N2O) I'll be able to maintain the streetabilty of it and run low 11s.

Mike

I had an '83 Mercury Zephyr with the straight six that could do 0-60 is a oil burning, tail pipe smoking 10.5 seconds. Really good on snow and ice though. My current daily driver is at best a mid-high 14 second car, but it's got some kinks i gotta work out (like vapor locking, and fuel restriction issues, gotta clean out the tank). Can't wait till i get some heavy mods on my car so i can go out and kill myself in the snow this next winter (or whenever $$$ starts falling out of my @ss).

I drive my car every day in the summer. I ran 13.02@106 on street tires. Still have A/C. Straight highway driving I get 23.7 mpg at about 75 mph. In the city it drops all the way down to 14-17 mpg. I am going to the track again soon with my 150 hp NOS kit, and it will be even faster.

jonnyk 06-05-2001 11:59 AM

Well mine surely isn't the fastest, but I do think it's a good example of having your cake and eating it too. Have all power options, cold air blowing on me, supportive/comfy race seats, great handling suspension, and it will be a nice mid 13 second car by the end of summer, and juiced next year...still averaging 18-20 mpg city http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif
