parking brake broke.....
I have a 87 GT convertible and I was in my driveway and I had to put the parking brake on to get out and open the garage door. The parking brake was pretty worn out already and I had it on but the car rolled back so I tried to put it up a little more and it just gave way. I tried driving the car afterwards and I heard something rubbing , but nothing was hanging from the car that I could see. Does this sound like bad news because I could care less about the brake, but I care about driveability. Any feedback to tell me what that noise is or what I should do would be of great help. Thanks

i had mine go out about a month ago, same rubbing sound against the drive shaft? That is probably where the two individual cables meet the T shaped bracket and routes up to the handle, i replaced mine, i think the new piece was about fifteen bucks, not very hard, just watch for a clip that keeps the spring in the new handle loaded till its installed. Then pull the clip.
