How to install Carbon fiber parking brake handle?

Anyone install an aftermarket parking brake handle in their stang? I purchased a carbon fiber one from California Mustang. The ad said it fits '94-'00. I emailed and asked if it would fit my '01 and they said it would fit fine. Well how exactly do I install it? "Slip on design, no tools required" Yeah right. I assume I have to remove the original to install the new one but I am clueless on how to do this. Any suggestions?

I posted this question a while back didn't get any replies my EXgirlfriend had the same kit and we never could figure out how to get it off. I think maybe if you pry it with a screwdriver? She would never let me try it though..

I tried pulling off the original handle but it's on pretty tight. I would cut it off but am worried that the aftermarket handle won't fit. Does anyone know how the original is put on? Is it glued on or does it just slip on? My e-brake handle on my '01 is a little different than my '94. It has a groove in the back to hold the leather e-brake "boot"
Does anyone have a '00 with this "boot"? The package of the aftermarket part reads '94-'00

I'd say just use a screwdriver jammed in that lateral crease, but i understand your woes.

Looks like you don't get the superior strength of this advanced composite in this not-load-bearing-at-all area.
