How long have you had your stang?

Well it's been 1 year today that I first brought home my Mustang, I must say the year went by quick but the day is still not forgotten. It was one of the best feelings I've ever felt. So I decided to see how long everyone else has had there stang and any stories they may have of there pony.

RBatson 09-29-2002 10:36 PM

Bought my 89 vert in March of 91, had 25k miles.. we've been through alot together. And to think, a mustang vert was my second choice, a vette being the first..

FivePointOhh 09-30-2002 07:14 PM

This is easy. I bought my 89 GT Vert brand new about one week after my birthday in July of 1989. Thirteen years, two months, one week, and 209,000 miles old.

moc 09-30-2002 09:45 PM

FivePointOhh, wow ..you beat me . I bought my notch on Sep 10 th ,1990 so it just turned 12 yrs ,but as you can see ! I don't have alot of miles on it . Out of 7 stangs that I have owned since 1974,this one I have had the longest ! and will keep no matter what . Now for that 03 COBRA
;) :D

RBatson 09-30-2002 10:08 PM

FivePointOhh, do you have any other pics of that car? I'd love to see them if you do.

Moc, how do you like that lightning? I'm thinking seriously about trading this Avalanche I just bought 2 monthes ago. I know I'm gonna lose alot of money on the trade but I just can't see making those huge payments on something I'm already not happy with.. I'm thinking either a lightning(need a truck) or a new cobra(need to be happy:D). I feel a 03 cobra would be a good friend to me and the 89, good company. Though I would hope the 89 would spank the cobra(who knows)...

Common leave Marty alone, he's all old and loosing his mind. The brain starts doing funny things when you get . . . what is it now Marty, 60? lol j/k with ya bud. lol

I think I most surprised everyone by surviving a year with my Mustang, people were placing bets that I was going to kill myself in it. I sure proved them wrong. :D :D :D

¡́am.

LX5liter 10-01-2002 10:33 AM

I have owned my 92 for a couple of years, but I haven't been without a Foxbody Mustang of some sorts since I bought one new in 1986.

84LX89GT 10-01-2002 08:28 PM

I had an '84 5.0L LX for 2 years, a '91 4 banger hatch for 2 years, and my GT for now 1 year officially now that you mention it. I got it September of last year....ain't that something.

moc 10-02-2002 09:05 AM

I like it alot

RBatson, the lightning is alot of fun ,it's still stock ,and i probably baby it way to much , if there is one thing i could change .it would be the seating arrangement ( so i could get more people inside of it ) but other than that it's badass .;)

mustangman65_79 10-02-2002 09:10 AM

Ops, I miss voted, I've had mine for 4 years, not three. I didn't realized it's been that long now! Yes, I still have my first car. It's sad to think that I have to sell it as soon as I get it running:( But I can't keep it if i wan't that '65 GT Fasback "K" code. I think thats much more worth it!:D

10-02-2002 10:26 PM

Had a silver 85 GT for 2 years

The 87GT I have now,I've owned for 4 years.

http://members.mustangworks.com/ultr...irst501995.jpg
here it is in 1995... bone stock

http://members.mustangworks.com/ultr...ustang1995.jpg
by '96 it had some exhaust mods, a shifter, and a Cervini hood

http://members.mustangworks.com/ultr...ustang1998.jpg
by '98 the list of mods had grown to include a NX kit, a Tremec, ported stock heads and a cam, intake, etc. etc. and was going 11.70's

http://members.mustangworks.com/ultr...ustang2000.jpg
by spring 2000 I had put together what eventually became my current combo, with a few changes along the way... I had these wheels for a few months and then sold them once my Bogarts showed up... later ditched the Baers for the Aerospace brakes I use currently. Didn't get any pics with a full tank of gas and the battery installed ;)

http://members.mustangworks.com/ultr...ustang2001.jpg
This is how the car sat in late 2000 to summer 2001... this is how it was setup when I dyno'd it... more changes came later (winter 2001) and we come to the present...

Just thought I'd share that with everyone... It'd be cool to see some rides that have evolved over the years... post 'em if ya got 'em! :D

Stacy_H. 10-03-2002 01:49 AM

This December 19th is gonna be 1 year!!

FivePointOhh 10-03-2002 07:54 AM

MOC:

I wish I had less miles on it but I did have fun putting them all on. It's my daily driver and I don't mind driving long distances for fun. The closest Jersey beach (Belmar) is 45 minites away so it's not unlikely to go there just for lunch and a walk on the boardwalk. Not to mention the Poconos are only two hours away.

RBatson:

I have some pix on my website. I should post more.

I luv Photoshop!

Bought it from a gentleman in NC in 1997. Bought it as a roller no motor, or tranny. In Five years it's had 6 motors. all ranging from 306 ci's to the current 420ci.

DAN-MAN 10-03-2002 08:26 PM

I had mine for about a year till we traded it for a 1941 Chevy business coupe.

Daniel.

Stangrrr 10-04-2002 12:56 PM

I've had my car for over 4 years now, & when I bought it, it was bone stock, down to the air silencer....

The Deuce 10-04-2002 01:26 PM

I've had mine only a couple months, but it was 23 years in coming. I've told of my families history in Mustangs many times, and I've always looked at them when I was buying a car. This time I said, "F*** it, I'm getting me one." Wish I had done that 3 vehciles ago, or even eight for that matter. :D

moc 10-04-2002 09:18 PM

I got my '66 in '68. it had 17,000 miles and cost $1700. 289, 2bbl, single exhaust, 200 hp. Had AC and an 8-track tape player (Lear Jet). What a buy. Never regretted it.

Rev

88workcar 10-04-2002 09:55 PM

Stang_Crazy 10-04-2002 10:15 PM

I've had my 89 for a year and a month. It's my second one and when I purchased it a little over a year ago, it was bone stock except for a dynomax exhaust.

I used to travel to Ridley Park occasionally, my ex's bro lives there.

DAN-MAN 10-05-2002 01:05 PM

I had mine for about a year till we traded it for a 1941 Chevy business coupe.

The car was nothing special. It was a '90 model hatch with a 4 banger and an auto.

Daniel.
