How Many Miles on Your Mustang?

Got this idea from Topless' post about her car turning 100K. So lets see who else has broken that mark and maybe even find a 'Stang with over 200K on it??

I'm at 74,00 miles right now, I don't drive any place far, mainly around town and to work and that's only 6 mile round trip!

Topless In Texas 03-18-2002 08:09 AM

I STILL CANT BELIEVE IT!!!!

GREAT IDEA MIKE!!!! :D
I still cant believe I just checked that last box.....geeeez!!!!!!!...But, shes still SOOOOO purty and runs better than ever! I"ll be curious to see who else ranks up there w/ my '94!!!!:p

Clock registers ~126,000, but I never changed the speedo gear when I had 4.10s installed at 60,000 miles :D oh well!!

Motor has ~4,000 miles anyways ;)

69fastback - Is that on the Orignal Engine?
Mine has 22,xxx I believe but I am surely guessing that is not correct. Probably turned over once, so I'm saying 122,xxx.

HiFlow5 0 03-18-2002 04:08 PM

91GTturbo 03-18-2002 06:52 PM

Just a little over 41,000 on mine.

MustangKelly96 03-18-2002 07:25 PM

My car had 78,000 when I bought it in Dec. 2000.
Hit 100x in November 2001, and now it's at 107,099.:D

I have a question for all the folks that have new motors and trannys. Was it a "have to" situation, or just because you felt it was time? I'm hoping and praying my engine will last for a good long time. :D

blue00gt 03-18-2002 07:57 PM

'79 Pace Car has 170K. Valve train ate it at 100K and the whole motor was rebuilt then.
'00 GT has 26K.

Tim C 03-18-2002 08:15 PM

Hey I want a prize, guys!!

I bought my car in Jul 01 with 4,020 miles on it!! Now (after a trip to the beach, a few trips to the raceway 150 miles away) I have ~15k on the odometer.
Mandy

Tony Frank 03-18-2002 10:25 PM

doin my calculations...

so far my car has least miles per year.....

my car - 1985 + 15,000 = 882.3 miles per year

69fastback - 1969 + 43000 = 1303.03 miles per year

either way its pretty amazing. 69fastback is your car original. with original motor and all......

6T9PONY 03-18-2002 10:41 PM

'69 Coupe had about 103k.....

'69 Fastback has about 105k....

90LxDroptop 03-18-2002 10:55 PM

59,549 or something when I picked it up from the shop today.

03-19-2002 02:27 AM

tireburner163 03-19-2002 10:32 AM

he he ....87 gt has 183,000 on it..........(don't know if moters the origanal ,not origanal trans and rebuilt rear....

my 78 stang has about 450,000 miles on it.........no one knows the exact milage on it (caus of speedo swaps) but it's had.........3 different moters, 1 moter overhaul,4 transmissions,3 1/2 rears .......every other parts been changed at least once(or twice or three times).........and the poor thing still lives on

i'd say the tired 78 deserves a prize.....:)

XDude 03-20-2002 12:36 AM

My friend's dad has a 80s something mustang with over 300,000 miles on it, it just keeps on goin too, origional engine and all that :).

Mercury 03-20-2002 11:41 AM

20,000 miles here on my 2000 GT.

158,000 on my ol 64 1/2 with the 289.

That 20,000 miles on my new GT is a HARD 20k. Its standing up to the punishment great. At least 60-65 percent of that is wide open acceleration blasts. :D

Tod 03-20-2002 12:38 PM

when i bought my '94 GT in December of '99 it had 44K on it. now 2 years 3 months and 16 days later :D it's got 79,995 on it. that's roughly 43 miles a day. *ahem* yea, who buys Mustangs to sit and look at them in the garage lol.

I took the valve covers off to put on new gaskets last summer. They were leaking a tiny tiny bit and I figured what the hell. I already had it sitting there waiting to put the A/C delete kit on, and I was putting in a new radiator too.

The rear diff cover was off a long time ago when the original owner had the 3.73's put in. I think that was around 20,000 miles, but I'd have to look it up. Its had the same ole' Red Line synthetic fluid in it since.

84LX89GT 03-20-2002 05:24 PM

My GT has 120,000 miles on the original engine.....newer trans and rear end though.

Before i sold them my '84 had 151,000 on it and i had a '91 that had 110,000

I've roughly driven my combined mustangs for 30,000 miles.....hopefully the GT will go alot longer :D

silverv6 03-21-2002 01:44 PM

I have 50,200 miles on my 2000 v6:(

venumus93 03-22-2002 10:45 PM

105,537....& I bought it with 17,902 in '96....it's just meant to be driven!!! no oil leaks, no smoke from exhaust, orig paint looks pretty good too with the Meguire's Gold Class always shining! Later!

mustangman65_79 03-23-2002 11:01 AM

'66-115,000

'79-118,000

'89 Bronco-146,000

My bronco is the best out of them all, and it has the most miles. Motoro still runs like it's new. Will always start up.

saywhenn94 03-23-2002 01:00 PM

Just aquired an 89 GT with 46,000 on the chassis. Motor and trans are gonna start from 0 again

ex-lt1-guy 03-23-2002 03:06 PM

I have 213,000 on mine with 373 gears and a new clutch and hit 13.9 opening week at the track, i cant wait to see what this thing does with a new motor :)

SkadonyaCA 03-23-2002 05:04 PM

Just about to turn 100K! Not bad for a 10 yr old car. Was looking pretty good until it went to Tucson for 6 months. Oh well. Means I can get my custom paint job sooner!

mustangman65_79 03-25-2002 03:57 AM

Hey SkadonyaCA

I have a friend who got his car stolen anout five or so months ago. It's looks just like yours. Same color and everything, but I guess there is a lot of them that look like that. We are both in cali too.
