7DMACH1 I looked at the pictures of your Mustang. The car looks great!!! I was wondering, I am planing on buying the Pro Star wheels for my 69 mustang project. What back spacing and tire size did you go with. How do you like it. If you have time tell me a little more about it.

6T9PONY

Yes the Beatles are awsome!! What is your 69 mustang going to be like. I tell me about when you get a chance.

They are 4.5" backspace. 15x8 rear 15x5 front. Front tires are 215x65/15 and the rear was 275x60x15 but just put on Hoosier street slicks 28x11.5. No rub or rolled edges. I bought the car from a guy in Jan. 1998. It was a Best of Show car that had been sitting for 9 years since the owner got sick. The body was beautiful but needed a lot of mechanical work. Got it back on the road by June of 1998. Won Best of Show in first show. have won about 25 Best in 3 yrs. It was a 351C 2v automatic. Installed 4v heads a cam and holley. Converted to 4spd 2.78 first gear. Rear was redone with a 31 spline Strange Traction Lock and 31 spline Mosers axles and 4.40 gears. All new brakes system including drums, control arms, upper and lower, u-joints, heater core, Mallory Unilite Dist with MSD 6al. New seat covers, rugs, and NOS door panels. this July a devopled a tapping noise, turned out to be a cracked piston. Had the engine stroked to 408 with a Torker and 800 dp holley. Made 537hp @6300 rpm. Now I am having a cowl hood installed because the intake is too high. So it's in the body shop right now. Can't wait to get it back and drive it. Also installed line lock, frame connectors, scatter shield and loop. Car should run about 11.30. The car was originally orange and since the PO was a painter and owned a body shop he repainted it in 1988. Completly stripped the car so there is no original paint any where. You can take off the fenders and it's all repainted. The hood has ghost flames and the sides have ghost pin stipes. RAY

My coupe was an awesome car. Originally it was a 302-2v with a 3-spd manual. When I got my hands on it, it had a stock 1971 351-2v and 1966 C4. I put on headers with 2.5" exhaust and glasspacks, Edelbrock 750 carb, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, Performer RPM cam (224/234 duration, .496/.520 lift), plug wires, coil, distributor cap, black crinkle aluminum valve covers, chrome air cleaner, K&N filter, Russel clear fuel filter, new hoses with braided stainless steel sleevings, Edelbrock 110 GPH fuel pump, Flex fan...I know I'm forgetting something....stock heads and bottom end....Street/Strip shift kit, 2400 stall converter....CURRIE 9" rear.....3.70/Trac-Lok/31-spline heavy duty axles...new u-joints.

Centerline AutoDrag 15X8.5s and 15X5.5s. BFGoodrich Radial T/A 295/50s and 215/60s. KYB Gas-a-just shocks all around. Export brace. Polyurethane bushings all around. New heavy duty rear leaf springs.

All new interior (black). Dash pad, carpet, seat cushion/upolstery, original floor mats (heavy rubber with running horse logo), head liner, windlace, seals, visors, dash pad, package tray, Grant steering wheel.

Kenwood 4-channel amp and 10-disc CD changer (both in trunk). Pioneer 6X9s and Pioneer 5 1/4s. CustomAutosound USA-04 Headunit. Adding a single MTX Thunder 8000 12" woofer (not to "bump", just to add bottom end sound).

New gas tank and trunk liner.

NOS chrome trim, gas cap, side marker bezels. New grill and grill emblem. New body emblem and lettering kit. DuPont IMRON paint. The color is Wild Canary Yellow. Limo black window tint.

The fastback will be much the same since I parted out the coupe after it was wrecked and am using the parts on the fastback.

Here's a link to my site about my coupe. It's a little old and needed an update, but I'm just going to build a new webpage all about my fastback when it's completed.

69 pony u got alot of the same supension parts i used to have on my car. Got ride of them now for drag shocks and springs since i don't have to drive the car as a daily driver anymore. It sure does bounce around alot.

Default Thanks

Hey thank for the responses.

7DMACH1
I see you are rebuilding you drag car too. What are you doing about motor mounts. I wanted to use solid mount but no one makes them. The best I heard was you can bolt the stock mounts together. I am going to try the HP solid mount for the fox body mustangs I think I can make them work. Thanks for the info on the tires. I was planning exactly what you have so now I know it is the right choice. Let me know how things work out for you.
Good luck You are from Phill. area right maybe we can meet at a track sometime.

Dragpack- My car isn't too much of a drag car. I think you might be mistaking me for 7DMACH1 maybe? My car will probably run right around 14 flat@100 mph.

My motor and tranny mounts broke when I tipped my car over. I got new ones from a parts store for my fastback. They are rubber, but I don't need solid mounts for my car. It only has about 290 hp and it will be driven on the street more than at the strip.

And yes, 7DMACH1 is from the Philly area.

Ok, my 70 Mach 1 in not a race car. It's a show car and I drive it on the street about 2,000 miles a year. It hasn't been to the track in twenty years. With the 351 4v with a cam and other mods it ran 12.20. I would think with the new 408 stroker with 537 hp it should go about 11.30. I don't know if it will ever go to the track. If you ever saw this car you would understand. I don't like to brag but it is about the nicest cleanest 70 Mach you'll ever see. My 86 Capri has about a hundred passes on it and it is also a show car that was featured in May 1995 MM&FF. It go 12.86 @ 107 with 1.65 60 ft. I attached an ad for my friend shop who is one of the best techs I've ever known in my 32 yrs in this business. He is the only one I let work on my car and has done all the work on them. He is getting a chassis dyno installed this week and if anyone wants to get their car done and lives in the Phila. South Jersey area this is the place to go. He also makes custom computer chips.
