How much for that 289 in the window...

I have a 289 long block, but it probaly needs a rebuild. It runs, but I didn't run it. So I don't know how much power it has. It is a 2bbl.

I was wondering how much, if I sold it, is it worth?

Does no one know what a 289 is worth?

Not a whole lot. Not a real sought after engine you got there man. Couple hundred....at most......if you find someone who wants it extremely bad for some reason or another....

you should put it in the classifieds for sale or best offer. that is not a real popular engine..better yet why not keep it and put it in the '65 if you sell it. cause you are selling an all original car. we just put a 347 in a '67 gt 350 shelby, and now are in process of rebuilding the hipo289 that came out of it. ;) i say keep it.

If it needs a rebuild, and has it all, I'd say 160-200 dollars. Thats what they average here. I found a junk yard that sold me a 289 out of a 66 "C" code for 75 dollars though. Needed bored .40 out, the number 6 piston had seized up and done some minor damage to the cylinder wall, other than that though, I could of probably got away with just honing the cylinders out.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, sounds like it might be worth more to me to keep. Oh well, I was thinking of finding a '65 with no motor and tranny, I have both.
