How Much Should I Sell a 88 GT with 19k Miles?
I know that KBB pricing sucks.. but what should I sell it for?
Its a 88 GT hatchback - never seen snow and very limited rain.. Grey Metallic upper, silver lower, red stripe - Red cloth interior 19000 Miles AOD Add On: AT flowmasters, 3.73 gears, FMS Pulleys, KN, Weld Wheels Draglites (15x7 and 15x8.5), BFG Radials, Pioneer CD Player.. Not Installed: Twisted Wedge Heads (Ported and Polished - .600 290int - 197ex), GT 40 Intake (Ported and Polished), Mac LT headers - all three are gasket/port matched, BM shift kit, black magic electric fan, 89 computer/mass air harness with wiring, Gauge Pod with Monster Tach, and E303 cam. Would I be better selling the parts out right and the car seprately? or package it together.. thanks! Rob |
You'd be way better off selling it as stock as possible. I can't advise you on what you should try selling it for, but with that kinda mileage, I'd be expecting in excess of 10k. Since you've modded the car, it's not going to be worth as much. If you mod it more, it'll be worth a lot less.
You have a collector's car. The average guy buying a Mustang GT isn't gonna pay the premium to have one with so little mileage, and it wasn't a wise choice to modify a collector car at all, really. Since you did, make the best of it by keeping it as stock as you can. Ebaymotors might be a good place to sell. I've seen several low mileage fox's go for outrageous amounts. |
Hmm, could be worth a bit. Howd u keep such low miles?
I dont know how desireable the red interior is though. Skyler |
That car is worth quite a bit to someone. Don't do anything else to it.. undo some of it if you can.
I hate red interior as well but still, you can get more than what the car cost when new. |
I have seen them go for the upwards of 12-18k around here but thats completely stock. With the mods you have done probably around 10k you could get for it.

Don't let it go cheap. I shopped around for quite a while recently and couldn't get over how much even high mileage Mustangs were bringing.....anywhere from 6 to 9k. So if you have a garaged, low mileage car,(mods or no mods)I'd also say it's worth 10k+.
People are crazy with these cars. They still are bringing half or more of their oringinal window sticker for....thats pretty good for a car thats 10-13 years old. ( I bought my first LX that was less than 2 years old, with less than 18,000 on it for $7600) So, if your in no hurry, someone will come knocking. Try listing the car in "Mustang and Ford Trader". I found my 93 Cobra this way. It gets national distribution. Someone might be willing to drive or transport your car.....they getting hard to come by in good condition. |
