Oh. My Mac uses a search engine called Sherlock. It has numerous other search engines inside it, but I never see any of them. It's kinda like a "super search engine". The down side is that I am not familiar at all with other search engines.

Take care,
ÅChris

that sounds useful, is that only for mac's or and you run it from either platform. i'm not very computer literate.

PKRWUD 11-08-2002 07:12 PM

It's a Mac thing. It's part of the OS. They came out with it 4 years ago, but keep trying to improve it, although I think it's just fine the way it is.

Take care,
ÅChris

46 and damn proud of it! :D

Chris--LOL...when I first read your post in French, I couldn't understand why anybody would look for cats in a bar! Then it suddenly dawned on me!

I was going to write this in French, but I'm too lazy to remember the words for "bar" and the expression for "suddenly dawned on me". Plus, as you can see above, I'm getting old and my memory from 4 years of high school French just ain't what it used to be! :p

jj_jonathon 11-11-2002 09:01 PM

Chris,

You've seriosuly never heard of altavista? They have an online translator there...best place online for free to get translations actually...I thought everyone knew about it.... :)

Jonathon

PKRWUD 11-11-2002 10:28 PM

No, I haven't. I can't stand the typical search engine/news/horoscope/aol-type stuff. I avoid them at all costs.

I just checked Sherlock, and it's not using them either. I'm sure it could, but the 7 it does use right now seem to be enough.

That's good to know, though. Thanks.

:)

Take care,
~Chris

Ouch!

45 is not old at all, James. Trust me. You'll see things my way before you know it.

jj_jonathon 11-18-2002 10:38 AM

45 isnt old at all...my dads only 46...hes sure as hell not gettin old...well, maybe a bit...can we say 24" monitor?...seriously...lol :D

1969Mach1 11-18-2002 12:02 PM

It's not how old you are, it's how old you act. :D I've seen like a 60 year old man with a new Lincon pull up beside my dad and try to race him. You hit old age, when you believe you hit it. If that's never then your always a kid inside. :D

§am.
