Another one
"Here are a few pictures of a '68 Shelby GT500 I dont't know too much about it other than it's been sitting there probably since the
early 70's. the property is waterfront and as you can see the wheels sunk in the ground and the car has
been flooded many times during storms. i understand the owner lost interest and has been approached
a few times but of course "IT'S NOT FOR SALE". "

The owner is going to restore this baby anytime.-----Very soon.... A.S.A.P.... NOT!!!!

Chris, i do agree with you for the most part. Some people dont have a clue what they got. On the other hand what i have come acrossed when i go hunting or accidentally find an old car like these that are hidden in a forest, barn, or a garage, they are usually there for many reasons. The reasons that i get when i come across these cars are that they owners have sentimental value. Most are parents whose kids went off to war and never came back:( . that is what i mostly run into when i ask why they won't sell it. Again, there is also many idiots out there that hurt the car by letting it sit and say they are going to restore it and never do.

Induction, where did you get these pics and where are these cars!!! we will hunt you down and find you if you dont tell us!!!!

Crazy Horse GT 09-06-2002 11:42 PM

induction, you just ruined my - tgif mood, that is sad, some people, they should just sell them.   :D

Sorry about that , I knew those Mopars would get to you too.
Someone sent those and a few more to us last week, Did you have any " special request?" ie Road Runner , Chevelle, Hemicuda, R/T's I didn't find a Rebel so thats a good thing .

joe4speed 09-07-2002 04:04 PM

What a shame... I kinda understand the sentimental value thing, but sometimes it would be healthier to let things go... I know that's probably easy for me to say though... :(

Poor cars no matter how ya look at it though!!! :(

VeNuM 09-07-2002 04:37 PM

Cars In Barns

I must warn you though, there's some pretty sick pictures on there.

bigred90gt 09-08-2002 04:48 PM

That is the most disgusting display of disrespect for our automotive history that I have ever seen. Those people need to be hung upside down by their toenails and beat with a wet noodle. Or how about the factory tire iron that came with those cars, that might do some justice.
Caymon

HotRoddin 09-08-2002 06:04 PM

This is just wrong :(

induction 09-08-2002 06:08 PM

polara7777 09-08-2002 06:13 PM

HotRoddin 09-08-2002 06:34 PM

Thank God they are saving this one !!!!

http://carsinbarns.com/blueovalsinbarns/pg26.html

This man was my hero growing up ! I watched him at lions and Irwindale and Orange County. He was a God to me. I thought the sun rose and set where ever he was standing !!

The first car he had that I remember was a little orange 66 Mustang funny car with an injected nitro burning SOHC 427 in it, one of the early funny cars. When he showed up in it you had only one chance ... thats if he broke something. If he didn't ... you were doomed !!
If they let that car rust in sombodys barn i'll jump off a bridge !

srv1 09-08-2002 09:04 PM

stupid people!

it justs makes me more mad when i went to the site. i think i can get away with murder! will you guys back me up?

1969Mach1 09-09-2002 08:33 AM

I got your back SRV, I say we just go take all the cars and restore them. So much beauty wasted. It's a shame.. how those cars can be left like that. :( :(
