![]() Hi,
Yep, its true. Lat week it was my 4 blackouts + left tail light. This time my hood chrome gauges (oil pres. and vacuum/boost) were ripped out last night. Prices on them are like $90US brand new. Called up cops for report, as well as going to complain to property management on why the street lamps have been going out every night (they comeon and go out - weird)..When the lights go out, its pitch dark...so easy to steal. And no, Im not considering any security system on this car cuz Im thinking of selling it anyways, and I don't think the thief has anything else to steal other then the tach gauge w/ shift light (old model) which Im taking out anyways. For some reason I'm not too concerned about this, cuz those gauges were just for show (except for oil pressure which I used). Oh well I think I got it covered by my insurance and will come out as a deductable. All in all I've lost like $280CDN ($180US) in worth of parts. Really blows! Bye! ------------------ Gautam N. ![]() I'm guessing the lights are orangish in hue? If they are, you have sodium ion lights, and when they begin to cycle like that, it means they need replacement. It's running out of the positively charged sodium ions to power the lamp.
I would also complain to property management. It's called upkeep. Why put something in if you don't intend on them working? Anyway, sorry to hear about your stuff getting ripped off. I wouldn't turn that into the insurance co. It'll just go on your policy as a claim and it could effect your rates. Not to mention since it's such a small amount, you'd be paying for them anyway. Insurance companies bite *** when it comes to auto insurance. Especially for younger guys like ourselves. |

![]() Hi,
Ya the street lamps go like orangish when they go in and out...its trippy...As for selling car, well my bro always argues that it's 'his car' whenever I want to make a mod so Ill let him feel this one. Let him do what he wants...I'll just wait a year or two before buying another for a project. In the mean time, Im looking for a regular car for everyday use...I like them early 90s Escorts... ![]() Bye! ------------------ Gautam N. ![]() Guatam, i think you're onto something by buying something sensible until you can afford to mod a mustang.......not me, 2 mustangs = no money. As long as you don't put a type R sticker and fart pipe on the escort everything should be ok

![]() You should hook up a motion detector spotlight to scare this arsewipe away. they are fairly cheap.

![]() Hi,
Hehe, my dad just hooked up the light sensor this morning. It might help but I dunno.. Afaik, the only other thing worth stealing is the RPM tach gauge I have on the dash (still haven't gotten around to taking it out). I was having the idea of keepin my window dropped and campin out to see if the thieves come for it. But with exams and stuff going on, I don't think I'd be able to do that.
