Post i started laughing

me and my cousin were talking on icq when he started saying i don't know **** about cars and started talking trash about my stang(besides the idel problem which we haven't had time to fix it is good)needs very little work which is mostly on the interior......suddenly he has a confidence in the car he does not yet have and wants to bet me 1000 dollars!! i started to laugh my *** off at this........i don't think he understands that i work all year and make a lot of money for my age cause of the hours i work...........i wanna check this car out and if it is stock i might accept cause i can win the battle of the wallets.......i can easily afford a blower by next summer....and nitrous but i don't think that would be a good idea considering the mileage on my mustang.........I am somewhat pissed that he insults my car which i have worked hard for and he just got a job this week after sditting on his *** for 4 or 5 months.....i will hand his *** to him if i race himand i will make sure i do......i am a very competitive person who can't stand to loose.

I've noticed that people that work alot of hours always have some kind of grudge against people if the don't have a job. What is up with that, at least he's got one now..... I mean I work quite a bit too, but I don't get all pissed off at people if they don't have a job for a couple months. Most of us don't like to lose either...But all in all good luck, and I hope you win. =P

One thing I found is that everyone is good at bench racing. Until they've raced it at the track they can't talk numbers, and if they haven't race anyone yet, they can't claim anything.

If your car is stock, and so is his, it'll be a test of driving skill. Modified slightly, just make sure you launch better. And before I forget, make sure you don't run on Erie street, its always crawling with cops.

If your car is a cobra you will kill him but if it was a regular gt, his 88 is speed density and he would probably get you if he can drive.

1986-1988 stangs had speed density. This means that the computer relies on stuff like maniflod pressure to tell it how much air it is taking in. 1089 and up had mass air meters that measure the air coming in. the speed density cars are faster stock for stock. But with speed desity stuff like intakes and exhaust systems can mess up drivablty and you CAN'T add stuff like cams

No cams huh? Well, you should take that up with 88workcar. He's running low low 12's on SD with an E cam, Edelbrock heads, and a Cobra intake I believe. Haven't seen him around for a while, but the can't take cams is BS. As long as you know how to tune it, and you're willing to spend a few minutes tuning or having a custom chip burnt, not a problem. All for less, or the same price as getting a better MAF.

I just want to clarify one thing too. 8? to 92 Cobras are simply GT's with a different sticker package, nothing else. No drivetrain differences what so ever. In 93 they got different rims, body stuff, GT40 heads, different cam, computer, and intake. They are had to come by around here. Only seen a handful.

So like you said Rage, stock vs. stock it'll be a driver's race that'll determine the winner.

I know with all the bench racers in Leamington tho, that you can't avoid the stupid talk. I get it all the time, people dog my car cuz its got 15 years worth of winters etc on the body. Yet, I can roast most of them, and my trap speeds in the 1/4 are next to and better than most of them.

Just enjoy your car, be happy and learn how to drive it. That way you can be confident and roast people with it.

There are a few cars to watch out for. They are mostly given away by a blower whine, or lumpy cam sound in the exhaust. Other than that the rest are basic stuff, gears, exhaust cars. Most of the plain looking cars are stock with arrogant drivers. If youre out at night sometimes you'll see a bunch of cars parked by shoppers, beer store or tim hortons. Thats where the faster guys usually hang out.

The insurance company charged me a lot more when I first got my car, because it is a GT. After 3 years tho, it really dropped, and now its hardly anything, so give it time.
