Talking I'm BAAAACK!!!!

I'm back, all.

Surgery was a huge success but I'm still in a painful recovery. Can't drive for at least another 5 to 6 weeks and its already been 7 so you can imagine how I miss my Stang.

My old man has been starting her up two or three times a week for me and driving it a little to keep everything lubed. Anyway, I have taken this time to explore a passion of mine, poetry and writing. I have a site dedicated to my work, http://www.angelfire.com/ny5/todd , but wanted to share on e poem in particular with you here. It is called "Driven".

Her eight cylinders have fired to life and are eagerly awaiting my command
I reverse her from under the shade of the large tree and onto the freshly paved
roadway
The street is calling us-
It is anxious to feel her rubber extensions shredding themselves to oblivion on its sun warmed back
I am more than happy to oblige
I pull out with my right hand loosely wrapped around the polished shifter knob and with my left foot holding the clutch pedal to the floor
She's rolling ever so slowly, not even enough for the needle to register but I am listening
The aural stimulation,
instant gratification,
the sound,
the smell,
the rumble of the igniting sparks exiting through polished steel
The reflection of the green leaves and white clouds in her infinitely deep black finish
I continue to roll without the slightest hurry, like a runway model flaunting her sexy curves
And I decide it is time for her to scream,
to announce her presence to the asphalt,
to the world,
to my heart as I feel the dump of adrenaline flood my veins as I stand on the accelerator
I let out the clutch and ignite the rear hides,
smoke bellowing out from underneath her rear as she tattoos the ground with her signature black lines
I closely watch her heart rate as I feel mine rising in unison with hers
Four thousand,
five thousand,
six thousand,
I pull back on the shifter with all of my might as I kick the clutch pedal to the floor as if I'm trying to touch the black top
She acknowledges my movements with an audible chirp and a nervous twitch from her rear
I fight with her to keep her focused on our straight path and manage to meet a compromise
Four thousand,
five thousand,
I slam the shifter forward and kick that pedal once again, engaging her third gear and again I feel her rear tremor
I reach fourth gear a bit slower, and I look at the dials that monitor her pulse and see that it has greatly risen
But I relax my right foot and calm her down as we coast from speeds too fast to mention and too slow to say we've really tried to see how strong she is
I guide her back toward her shady point of rest and leave her for the day
I take one last look at her sexy curves and polished lines and tuck her under her cotton blanket until our next steamy rendezvous allows us to share another stimulating moment

Okay, like who really wrote that?!?!? We all know cops don't have that kind of talent!!!

Dude, I'm glad we mentioned this before. You have a passion that works for you when it comes to literary artistry. I have very passionate feelings about several things, but when put to paper, it comes out "op;erf[q3]p". I gave it up years ago, but it still lingers in what's left of my mind.

I forgot to ask you a question in my last email that has been bothering me since I drove last week in Florida: Exactly how many ******* license plate options does Florida have??? I don't see how you guys (law enforcement) could possibly keep up with them all. I swear to you, this time out I even saw a Girl Scout license plate! Anyway, the day before I left, I spent an hour and a half driving around taking pictures for a buddy of mine who wanted to "see Florida the way I saw it". They came out pretty good. I was really surprised when I got home and downloaded them off the camera. I put them on this page on my website. I know you'll dig them. Be forewarned, there's alot of them, so if you're using a 56k, it may take a few to load. After they do, just click on the first one, and you can then go through it in a slideshow format that you control.Tell me what you think.

Really glad you're doing so much better, Todd.

Take care,
-Chris

Default Thank you I think Chris

Some of us dumb pigs can actually write more than tickets! lol Check out the site, it's full of em. Hey, thanks guys, I think everyone wishing and praying for me helped out a lot.

PKRHEAD-i mean pkrwud, you're a good guy. Always keeping me entertained with your messages. In a time of recovery, humor is a wonderful thing. Wish we could have hooked up while you were here, next time then! I have learned more about life by discovering how close I could be to death than I can even share here. But this isn't the place for that. My email addy is posted if anyone wants to discuss that.
Now Chris- I believe we have about 50 plates here. It's very annoying, each one looks like it's from another state. I tried your link, didnt work, said page was not found but I really cant wait to see the pics. Its amazing how different it is here where I am than where you were. Anyway, Im in the wrong place to be typing sentimental and nonsensical stuff, get in touch in private.
And thank you for the sentiments.
Very much appreciated,
Todd

Default Chris, for you again

Chris, hell of a job on your site. Very professional looking. The beauty of a Mac. Florida doesn't look like that down this far south, I tell you that. Nice job!

Thanks guys! Makes me think I should just point and shoot from now on, rather than try for nice pics!. As far as the nice cars down there, I must emphasize that the 3 I took pics of were probably the only three older than 1975 I saw the 12 days I was there. Most vehicles 10 years of age or older were rusted out.

Take care,
-Chris
