Default Philmont Scout Ranch

Hey everyone,

If you guys noticed (probably not ) I have been gone for 2 weeks. Well i was at Philmont in Cimarron, New Mexico. Backpacking for 12 days and participating in turn of the century/ pioneering era activities like Black powder rifle shooting

Well i just wanted to make this thread and see if there are any others on this board who have gone there before. This place is pretty much the mecca of high adventure scout stuff And BTW yes I am a boy Scout and I just became an Eagle Scout (dont make fun of me too much

Later,
Nick

Nick

Congratulations on making Eagle Scout. That's a real achievement that you can be proud of and that you'll have your whole life. Good for you!

The Philmont adventure sounds great, although a bit too tough for this city slicker, but hey, glad you enjoyed it.

Welcome back.

i would never make fun of someone who made it to eagle scout...i was in scouts up in canada for about 4 years and loved it....the n in 8th grade i moved to the fl keys and didnt know what to do, if i wanted to, or anything about switching over so i dropped it entirely...i still miss that up north....congrats!

Hey there, MidNitBlu 5.0. Congrats on getting your Eagle! I know how hard it is to achieve this award, I am also an Eagle Scout. I went to Philmont in the Summer of 1980, and had a blast!! I am sure it has changed alot since I was there, but if you had half as good a time as I did, then I know you had a good time. Additionally, I was the crew leader of our group, and enjoyed the extra little perks that came along with that postition.

Remember, Once and Eagle, always an Eagle!
