Informative reading for Fox-body owners

For those experienced 'Stangers, I'm sure this is redundant information...

Got a Borders gift certificate from my Mom for Christmas. While looking around the transportation section, "The Official Ford Mustang 5.0 Technical Reference & Performance Handbook: 1979 Through 1993" caught my eye.

I purchased it and began reading as soon as I got home. Folks, this book is excellent! For those not too well acquainted with Mustangs (like me) it fills in the holes present in the Chilton's-Hayne's guides and magazines. Not much in the way of "step-by-step" stuff, but tips for "which mods do I make?" questions, tons of part numbers, answers to "does this mod really work?", special Cobra and Police Interceptor sections, and a section of historical data (including production stats and magazine reviews) for each model year.

Anyway, just thought I'd recommend this to anyone who hasn't read it already or is a newbie. It's by Al Kirschenbaum and available in any Borders, Barnes/Noble, or through the mail from Summit, etc.

That's the best one around and should be the first thing people buy when they get a fox stang. I'll answer really hard questions with stuff i've learned from that book, someone on stangnet called me an investigative reporter when i answereda question about how the fox got it's name. I Love It!!!

Oh, BTW...

The book will set you back about $30 - but it's well worth it!

Anyone seen that book in Jegs that deals with EFI? It tells about mods and such on fuel injected 5.0's and such. I was thinking of ordering it because it has a bunch of stuff in it that I probably need to learn about since this is my first "soon to be modified" EFI car.

Buy the book by Charles Probst? "How to service and modify fuel injected fords". This book is the real deal, and not full of a bunch of crap you can get out of magazine articles.

We did a review a similar book, or maybe the same one. Read it on our archived 1999 news page. It's titled, "Mustang journalist turns author". Regardless, it's a nice book.

cleangreenmachine,
I picked up that book a while back, too.

It is a great reference guide for V-8 Mustangs.
