Exclamation installing gauges on an 89

i want to put a set of el glow gauges on my 89. i want to know if when i open the gauge case will ink squirt on my odometer. im asking because a freinds car has ink all over the odometer.

less than 1,000 miles on new t-5, throw out bearing and clutch. completly redone exaust shorty headers, custom h pipe, flowmaster 40 series, all mandrell bent 2.5 inch tubing

i got all new headlight assembly for christmas with clear corners

Never heard of that happening before. I believe that something else has happened to your friends car.

Putting white faced gauges on you car won't do anything like that. I've known a few people to put them on with no problems.

I've never heard of that either.
I replaced my stock gauge faces in my '88 with white Cobra ones, and it was a very easy job. Just make sure to draw exactly where your needles were pointing before you pull the needles off! And make sure to remove all the glue from where the stock ones were. I didn't and it made the lights behind it look uneven when the lights are on.

i pulled my dash all apart then the bold print in the mechanics book caught my eye and it said do not remove the needles because they are magnetic. so i got scared b/c magnetic needles cannot be recalibrated.

i noticed the cobra grille on your car. was that an easy mod?

VERY easy! You just need a Dremel or equivalent for cutting, and the rest is a snap! It really is a breeze and makes the front look much better, IMO!
