Thats interesting. On a similar note, a friend of mine bought two old Funny cars last year. They were both original Mickey Thompson cars! One was a Pinto and the other a Mustang.
The Pinto had been coverted to an alcohol small block Chevy ( ) and the Mustang was just a rolling chassis. He bought them more for historical value than anything else, but he is actually racing the Pinto (i've tried to get him to put it back to Ford power, but he says it's too expensive )

2 Mickey Thompson cars?!? WOW Those should be worth quite a bit. I would love to find an old Mopar drag car.

That would be cool to own some of the old drag cars like that. They should have a racing series where people can run them. Like how people buy old Nascar cars and race them. I sure would love to to get an old Davey Allison car. Now if i could only find some money

It was a compliment, dear. You are wiser than your surroundings would dictate, if they could.

Hey, is your car going to be ready tomorrow? I can't wait to see how this turns out. I'm getting this feeling that I may be driving to Burbank in the near future to correct some things.

Take care,
~Chris

I won't know till tomarrow. I'm ganna get Earle to call the guy in the morning. I doubt it'll be ready, Earle's thinking it'll be done Thursday. ARRRRRR!!!!!! It's been close to 2 weeks now, since I took it there. (Dropped the new engine off Tuesday though.) It had better be done by Friday, I have to go visit my parents. I promised, they're having a big party. Anywho, it had better be done WAY before Friday night, that's when we're leaving.

If for some reason it's not, I guess I could hitch a ride w/ my sister. She leaves about 20 min. from us. that is if I can get ahold of her, she NEVER answers the phone.

Me thinks you're getting dicked around. I don't think the guy realizes just what is involved. Did the engine come with a tranny? If it didn't, your guy better know to change over the balancer from your old engine, and I'm not positive the serpentine crank pulley will bolt to your '66 balancer.

I hope I'm wrong about this guy.

Take care,
~Chris

Ummmm, he knows the (flex plate?) for the tranny needs to be swapped. I know that much for sure.

Okay, that will work too. The balancer, on the front of the engine, and the flexplate (or flywheel for sticks) are a matched set, but Ford changed their balancing weight amount in 1983, so having one part out of an '87 and the other out of a '66 would result in a dead engine in about 300 to 500 miles.

Take care,
~Chris

EarleBishop42: no tranny.
EarleBishop42: I'm sure he can handle swapping out the harmonic balancer
EarleBishop42: No, we'll use our old 4 bolt pulley.

EarleBishop42: yup
EarleBishop42: we're swapping both
EarleBishop42: in fact, the flywheel/flexplate is already partially removed from the 87
