Default Dropping in a new engine....

I have a piston ring that is compressed. So I need a complete rebuild. I was thinking about just dropping a new engine in. Anyone know a site with a guide to walk me through this swap?
Or any info you all could share would be invaluable.

I've heard a couple long shots on how to get it uncompressed. I.E. changing the oil every 100 miles 5 or 6 times. Anyone ever heard of anything like this??
TIA,
Don
