Junkyard Wars - Ford Team
FYI:
~~~~~~~~~~ On Wednesday, August 28th at 9:00 p.m. EDT, three talented Ford PD Engineers will compete in the ultimate game of creative engineering on TLC’s (The Learning Channel) popular program, “Junkyard Wars.” Stephen Zoepf, Gary Kiley, and Justin Case form “Team Model T.” The engineers met as interns at Ford Motor Company last year and became fast friends. Together they make a formidable team that will face off against another group of tool-wielding gearheads. The goal is to build the best machines they can in a 10-hour period using junkyard parts. The team will have no prior knowledge of what they are going to build until they reach the junkyard. Each team takes its machine and competes against the other in a head-to-head race. If they win, they move onto the next elimination round and face a new opponent in a playoff-type format with the final goal of becoming the ultimate champions of the junkyard. Team Model T was selected out of thousands of applicants for their talent, experience, and ingenuity. This in itself is a great accomplishment. I am sure the skills they have been developing at Ford engineering award-winning cars and trucks will come in handy. Please join me in cheering on Gary, Justin and Stephen and wish them the best of luck in conquering the junkyard. ~~~~~~~~~~ |
Thanx
I'd like to see that, so I'm setting my alarm on my phone for a reminder..... :) |
Junkyard Wars rules.
Thanks for the heads-up. I knew it was a new season, but I didn't know who the first team was going to be.... |
I have to see this one. If they use another motor other then a Ford for there project they will be hearing allot of crap.
|
Go Ford Go.
I need to get it recorded, because I'm too cheap for cable. That show is pretty cool. Do you know who they're going up against? |
Sweet!
One of the Engineers graduated from Michigan Tech, where I am currently in my 5th and final year of a Mechanical Engineering Technology Degree. I'll definitely be watching. |
I had a friend who was supoosed to do that. He was picked for an air force team, but in the end, had to turn it down because he was getting deployed, which sucks becaus I was going to be with him, on the team.
|
they should be put up against a select team of chevy engineers....thatd be cool....wonder how itd go...hrmm....
|
Man I just love that show. Those guys and gals are good. They have to put together the crazyest things. Now all I have to do is remember to watch it tomorrow...hope I don't forget. Thanks, it ought to be a good one. Odie:cool:
|
I'll definitely have to try and remember to watch that! That show rules!
|
Ford wins!!! I just watched and it was cool. They had to build mud racers and the best time around the track one. Ford built one using a SBC and it ended up being front wheel drive. I thought it was kind of ironic because all chevys these days seem to be front wheel drive.
|
Yea I watched it. Ford kicked some butt. They pirated the drivetrain and motor from a Jeep. But on the starting line they tossed the rear drive shaft.....so it was FWD from then on:D
|
The team leader for the model T's was the guy from Michigan Tech. Turns out, my housemate had him for a TA a few years back.
The Model T's would have really kicked butt if they had RWD working too, although Detroit Muscle did have a pretty good machine. At least it performed better than I expected. |
It looked like their frame was going to snap in half.
