Just wondering....

My car got side swiped at the local mall here a few days ago and recently I have noticed a wierd haze down the side of my car. All that happen was her bumper graze the side of my car door (driver side) about mid ways down and it is about 6 inches wide and it runs the length of my door.

Is there anything I can do to get rid of the haze. I have tried waxing a small part. But no results.

it probably trashed your clearcoat at the least, if it's not too bad, it may can be buffed out, if not, well time for a clear coat touch up, unless it got into the paint, did you catch the person who did it? make them pay for it, good luck.

Try carburater cleaner on a rag. If it doesnt rub off with that its on there for good.

It works surprisingly well and doesnt damage the paint.

No I didnt get to catch the idiot who hit my car... and when I called the police of course they did nothing. It was a hit and run and no witnesses. SOOOO I am stuck with the damage. There is a small dent you can barely tell unless you are standing at the front of the car and looking down the door. Its about the size of a quarter... and I took it to a body shop to see how much it would cost to have it taken out and the guy told me 1200. SOOOO I think I will just have to wait a while on that.
But the carborator cleaner sounds like a good Idea.... so I am going to try that.

Yea... I dont think I will try the carborator cleaner thing... I think it might damage the paint that stuff is pretty strong. So I think I will just go buy an electric buffer and see if it gets the haze off. But thanks for your help guys!

I use it all the time with "0" paint damage.

Just wipe on and wipe off.

The buffer sounds like it could swirl the paint.
