Now the subject. Someone mentioned that if she loved him, then she wouldnt hurt him. In my opinion, love CAN be like that, but in this case i dont agree. She should be behind bars for life! BUT! no one here knows exactly how he treated her either. Maybe he slapped her around or maybe he treated her like crap. I dont always believe what the media says, but it is a fact that she was in control and she took a life. She should get life. That is just the way i see it.

In Texas law, it matters if it was a deliberate act or a crime of passion. Even though our state is famous for meting out the death penalty, that only happens for deliberate acts (crimes that were planned out).

To me me it was fairly obvious that she did not plan the killing. She just lost it with the oppertunity to mow him down inthe parking lot. To me it was a pure "crime of passion" and the 20 years is a perfect punishment for that action.

As far as Im concerned, she did plan it. The moment she put the mercedes in "drive" and aimed for her husband, she was planning on hurting him or killing him.

She saw him with another woman and was extremely upset. the smart thing to do would be to walk away and calm yourself down until you can make intelligent, rational decisions.

She cant control herself, which makes her a danger to society. Sure, 20 years isnt a walk in the park, but wont she be out in 5 or 10 with parole?

I don't think Jill was trying to draw attention away from the topic or focus it on her. She was trying to make a point with her statement that she doesn't consider herself a big "feminist". It seems the topic has been drawn off, but by the males on this thread honestly who can't see past a women's body parts... Come on...
