At last! The Lightning is fixed!

Well, for all of those members that were around back when I had the lady bash my passenger door (on purpose) and then the valet at the parking garage where I worked bash my from ground effect, I thought I'd give everyone an update. Last week I took the beast to a Ford dealer's body shop and I finally got everything fixed. It's now back to it's beautiful, prime condition... Man, it looks good again! :D

I'll have to snap and post a picture tomorrow perhaps... ;)

Crazy Horse GT 08-27-2002 11:56 PM

I was more referrin' to the fact that y'all are a long haired hippie man. Don't you have to be pretty to be a pretty boy? So that ain't me cuz I'm fugly.

Besides, I probably look more like a Petty than a Gordon. Heck, I've got grease under my fingernails right now. The bosses love that.;)

mustangman65_79 08-28-2002 02:38 PM

Glad to hear it's all back in one piece now. I remember the rants u had about all the damages to it. So, did u ever get that old lady back?  :D

StangFlyer 08-28-2002 02:50 PM

Yes, it definitely took me a while to get around to getting it all fixed up. But, now it's all set. Here's some shots I snapped today:

The door repaired:

The ground effect repaired:

Better late than never

Dan:

The beast looks, well, sweet.

What took you so long? I couldn't stand riding around in a near-new, otherwise pristine Lightning with body damage on it. You're a patient guy. Glad it's all better now.

90'5.0 Conv 08-28-2002 03:44 PM

Glad to hear it Dan, why did it take so long? The truck looks great!

James

StangFlyer 08-28-2002 04:03 PM

No, I'm not a patient guy... I'm just a busy one...

Btw: Did anyone notice my updated avatar? :D

The Deuce 08-28-2002 04:08 PM

Very nice Dan. The Avatar is cool too. I'm sure I'd have noticed it eventually.

Edit - I just noticed you did a little more work than you mentioned. Wonder how long it will take other people to notice that too?;)

I too noticed the avatar, it caught my eye when I first clicked on this forum, When I went to scroll down, I saw something move.

About the other work to your lightning, All I see is the mustangworks.com sticker.

StangFlyer 08-28-2002 04:54 PM

Deuce - Certain people will, and everyone else will figure it out eventually...

mustangman65_79 08-28-2002 04:58 PM

If it's something to the truck, I probaly won't see it for that I hardly ever see a lightning, and I've never been close to one, but if it's about the site, then I did notice.

PKRWUD 08-28-2002 07:21 PM

Dan-
Glad your truck is finally together again! Guess what though? Some one stole our post counts!

:)

Take care,
~Chris

What I'll take it out and do is go to the track for some fun. I think I'll hit a test and tune night in the next couple weeks.

DAN!! don't use the word hit!!!

StangFlyer 08-29-2002 10:55 AM

Oh yeah, good point. I wouldn't want to "hit" anything after just getting it fixed, now would I! :D

Crazy Horse GT 08-29-2002 10:56 AM

your avatar changes too fast, or im getting old, heheh, looks like you changed color, added wheel's & body mod's, looks good dan, btw i was just joking with ya about borrowing it, that is'nt red wing red is it? lol , cya.:D :D ;)

StangFlyer 08-29-2002 10:58 AM

No... The Mustang is Vermilion Red and the Lightning is Cardinal red.

Crazy Horse GT 08-29-2002 11:08 AM

just kidding about the red wing red, the truck looks great, one of the sharpest lightning's ive seen, let us know how it does at the track, when we went to bowling green, a silver lightning was giving a few mustang's h--l, odie really liked that truck, maybe i can talk her into getting one. cya :)

StangFlyer 08-29-2002 11:47 AM

The best I ran with the truck in the past was like a 14.1 ET. However, I had really worn out tires in the rear. Since then It's had a whole new set of Toyo Proxies on it. I'm sure it'll get much better traction now. I have no doubt that in cool air it will go around 13.6. The only modifications I've done to it thus far is an entire Bassani exhaust system. However, right now it's more beneficial for how the truck sounds. I'm sure it got a little out of it HP wise, but the serious exhaust will come more it to play as other HP modifications are done down the road.
