Possibly gonna get a stang

OK, first off, how are you guys.

I am here to ask a couple questions about the 01-02 stang gt's. I test drove one on the weekend (a gt convertable and I wasn't overly impressed), and I think I am in the market for a new car.

If I get one, it will be gt 5 speed (not a convertable). What are the common problems with them. I know brakes are supposed to be a prob, much like every other domestic car.

Also, how well does the gt take to boost, either s/c or even a turbo. I know vortech and paxton all have s/c's for them, so I figure I will probably skip the initial bolt ons and go straight for the real power.

Anyway, I could possibly be seeing more of you, so take it easy.

Sorry but scratch that idea. I am not paying no $600(can) a month in insurance. I guess I will stick with my 4 banger for a little while longer.

High Performance always comes with a price; if you want a new/late model performance/sports car you'll probably end up paying big bucks for insurance anyway no matter the make you choose. Good luck.

Ya I know, but $600 a month in insurance would be more then the car payments.

I guess I will just have to bolt up a turbo to my avenger and go from there. I just wanted something new.

I'd get a different quote. In any case, I've found the import (supposed) competitors to be priced near the same as the GT for insurance cost.

Brakes are not a big issue with the new GT's.

don't know of any problems, but like all mustangs, they respond very well to boost. in stock trim, a new manual gt hardtop will run about 14 flat well driven. with a blower, you'll be in the twelves if i'm not mistaken; i don't know of a turbo kit for the 4.6l yet, though.
