I cracked the block on this engine in 1981, when I was 4... Played fill the engine up (with water). Froze over the winter.
I've never driven the 427, but I have driven my Uncle's 428 Mach 1.
My dad has given this engine to me. It has to stay with me, I cannot sell it, regardless of the price. My dad ran low/mid 13's with it in a 1963 Ford Convertable.
If I had a car to put it in, it would be a far higher priority, lol. Years would become weeks, hahaha.
I'd love to put it into a Cougar, I love the way they look, and they are a little different.
The bonus for me is the extra parts he has. rods, cranks, pistons. He's also got a T-10, even though it's a little weak for the task. His close ratio was blown up by a friend years ago. The only thing I should actually need is an oil pickup, rings, bearings, gaskets and seals, and a really good magnaflux and welder. Hopefully the block is savable.
