Issue with cowl nuts...
Just replaced the front fenders on my 65, and CANNOT for the life of me figure out how those special nuts fit into the body at the bottom of the cowl. Is there a special trick, or am I making this too difficult?

I had the same problem on my 68. Didn't replace the fenders but the bolts had rusted shut on those special captive nuts. I ended up using a large flat head screw driver and prying the outer edges out a little and was finally able to to push one end in, turn 90 degrees and they popped out. Took me "several hours" and was a pain in the butt. New ones popped right in, turned them 90 degrees to correct position, but then had to lightly hammer the outer edges inward for a tight fit. Don't have a magic formula for removing them but it finally worked after lots of trial and error.
