That is pretty crazy looking. I've never seen a tornado really per say. I thought it was just like 1 funnel cloud kind of thing. Very cool looking either way.

Fuq that. I HATE tornados. Scare the crap out of me. Redheads do too, but that's a whole 'nother story.

Take care,

ROFL.....i have strawberry blonde hair! :P lol...

those are water spouts by the way...a good majority of them never touch land and when they do, tend not to survive (i used to be an avid weather channel watcher..)...i have only seen one funnel cloud in person (we took pics of it and used it for publicity on the news ), but never have I actually seen one touch the ground before...but when hurricanes roll over you (ive survived about 4 decent ones so far) those damn strong winds from the rain bands can send shivers up your spine as you think you hear that "train" coming at you, when its just some extra wind...oh! and hearing trees falling in your backyard form under the stairs is really cool too...hehe...i LOVE weather...in fact I wanted to be a meteorologist for the longest time just so I could be one of those guys who reports from the beach in the wind and rain during a hurricane's landfall...it was my passion, but I didn't want to have to stand infront of that stupid green screen for the rest of the year when there are no hurricanes...lol......

this dorm is probably the safest place I could be for a hurricane/tornado strike...all cinderblock and cement....just run into the lounge and there are no windows either...would be great....well...kinda...hehe...

YIKES!!!

I was born and raised in Alexandria, La and moved to Missouri in '93. I remember Hurricane Andrew in '92, it was horrible!!! We ended up getting all kinds of tornadoes and rain!

Unfortunately my grandma still lives in Alexandria which is pretty much in the center of Louisana and so does a frind of mine that literally has a bayou just yards from their backyard which at one time had an alligator!!!!!!. I'm hopeing all they'll see is rain.
*crosses fingers*

i vaguely remember andrew...i was up a little further north of where it hit (about 30min south of tampa) so all we got was some wing with gusts that moved around stuff outside and tons of rain, but it basically missed us...i rememebr driving through homestead a year later going to key west and it was still a mess, half of the buildings were still laying around all over the place...imagine being in there when it happened or right after it happened

EDIT: oh yea, and Andrew was recently upgraded by a council to a category 5 (the highest category a hurricane can reach, holding sustained winds at at least 155mph)..before that (which was only a month or two ago) it was still considered a category 4 hurricane....which makes andrew the 3rd category 5 hurricane (to my recollection, maybe 4th) to ever hit the united states since we started recording hurricanes back in the latter 1800s...

I lived in Miami Beach when Andrew hit, and we had to evacuate to Jupiter (North of West Palm) Not much happened up here, but when I got back home it was weird... Like a war- zone with National guard guys everywhere even directing traffic (no traffic lights left) everything was different for almost 6 months. Miami was lucky though really.. Homestead and Kendall got the worst... totally flattened. Unreal... I love storms, but keep those huge ones away from me.
I remember the storms we'd get when I lived in New Orleans, it seemed to always flood, and my mom always warned me about the water mocassons and the garfish coming out of the drains when it backed up.
