I know it was supposed to be a joke, but it's not true, pretty unaccurate too. Most of the 600hp cars that you see running 12's are FULL SHOW CARS, loaded with stereo, dvd, electronic equipment. And the 900hp are 9's, or low, low 10's.

1BAD89, all you were doing is being an idiot and flaming for a fight. The show cars you're talking about must include every car that doesn't run slicks.

If you are thinking that I'm debating a car setup right with 600hp has the same potential as a 900hp car, or that a 600-900hp Supra is incapable of running better than a 12, your poor literacy skills are once again surfacing.

As far as me running at the track, why bother wasting a day of my time and $200+ when all is said and done? I beat LS1's on the street, I offered to race yours and you disappeared for a couple days till the thread was deleted. With all your track experience you seem to be incapable of quoting a realistic time for a 5.0 Stang to run in the 1/4, at least that seems evident in most of the posts you interject your thoughts into on the subject
Ok we all know my literacy skills are good. I didn't dissappear, the thread was deleted before I saw your "challenge" lol, if that is what you want to call it. And let's step back and be realistic, I'm running low 13's, your running 14's at best, I recall you stating that you got a 14.2 on the G-tech. While that might be a blistering pace in your town, I'm afraid it's just not enough. And I'm going to drive 500+ miles for what? One run against a 14 second stang? I also have watched you write in a post that you could pull off low 13's with slicks in your " stock stang" with dynomax mufflers and high flow h-pipe. BS man, we all know that. I just read that and laughed to myself. Just face it, people that have never raced at a track always think they are faster than average, until you race at a track you won't know what I mean. Anyway, happy G-tech'ing!;)

Must you two ALWAYS bicker among each other!!!???

1Bad89....The joke wasn't suppost to be realistic...it's a joke. It's suppost to be one sided.

Unit.....Chill with the harsh words

Both of you step back and look at what your arguing over. A stupid joke.

Can't we all just get along:D

1BAD89 02-20-2002 01:45 PM

We aren't really arguing, neither of us are mad, we are just talking. :)

Right we all know it was a joke, but it was semi-serious.(there is no questioning that, so the next person that tells me it was a joke, and acts like i didn't know it was one, is getting two 18.5 tire marks on their backs. .:p)

Dark_5.0 02-20-2002 02:14 PM

It seems that someone doesnt understand that a 600-900 HP car is probably gonna run some slicks at the track:rolleyes:

Many fast Supras around here 1 in the 10's and 2 in the 11's ...............with no wheel spin. Damn near stock TT Supras pulling 13.1's @3000ft

If you dont drag race then you dont understand......The track and the street are 2 different worlds.

Almost any traction problem is solved with some racing slicks.

I beat my friends 96 mistic cobra on the street........but on the track he beat me 14.2 to a 14.62. @3000 ft.

That sticky stuff they spray down helps alot!

If I never ran my car at the track I would think I was running 14.1 or so cause I beat that mistic cobra.

In one of my 5.0 mags they dumped the clutch at 5000rpm's on slicks on an stock 89 5.0 and ran a 14.1 @96mph with a professional driver.

LS1's run about 2 seconds faster than stock 87-93 stangs I just cant see making up all that time with exhaust.

JMO,

I agree with IBAD89 on this one. Of course the IRS is not as IDEAL for drag racing (as evidenced by the new cobras vs GTs) but I personally have never heard even one Supra driver be particularly vexed by the the IRS on their car and I'm from a very ricey area lol :D I'd personally have a TT Supra over a Mustang any day of the week, but the $$$ isn't there ;)

Have you ever driven a TT Supra at the track Unit? And 1BAD89, have you seen those showcars actually run 12s, and know for a fact that its DUE to the extra bs inside?

I think we are ALL debating things that are mostly speculation...not that we have actually experienced...which is cool, but can't be taken as gospel.

However, without starting a fight, I do think 1BAD89 has a point...its really hard to talk about track times unless you've actually run the car...reminds me when we ran the 6 cylinder...the decent amount of torque makes it feel like a high 15 second car...imagine my embarassment when we couldn't urge that piddly 3.8L past 17.04!!!!! :(

Gee Kell, you managed to insult three people in one reply. That may be a new record.

Take care,

....

This bores me. I'm tired of this crap.

Mustangbelle306 02-20-2002 09:51 PM

mmmkay..there was no need to be rude. Never claimed to be an expert in Supras, merely conveyed my passing experience. Is it possible that you could respond to ANY post without making it into a grudgefest?

1BAD89 02-20-2002 11:34 PM

I missed it, he edited it to ...... was it another almighty challenge that I missed and five months from now he's going to say I dissappeared?

6T9PONY 02-21-2002 02:34 AM

Unit man, you know I love you and all (not like that), but not everything has to turn into an argument or a bashfest.

1BAD89, it was JUST A JOKE!!! Hahahaha...just kiddin man.:D :p
