Lynyrd Skynyrd

does anybody on this site like Lynyrd Skynyrd. i've heard people talk about different bands but i've never heard anyone ever talk about anything southern rock.

If it comes up than that's the old lead singer Ronnie singing with the new lead singer, his younger brother, Johnny.
Ronnie died in the plane crash of '77.

Anyway I was just wondering if you do or not.

Does anyone know how I could make this my avatar? Or do they know of a good avatar?

Crazy Horse GT 06-25-2002 11:41 PM

Ricky Medlocke is a bad mother ****** no matter what band he plays in.

I just hope we can see Blackfoot is some form. I love Skynyrd and all, but I love Blackfoot too LOL.

srv1 06-26-2002 10:41 PM

good luck, bad luck

I ain't the son of the seventh son, black cats won't cross my path
Good luck comes I just watch it run and it sure does run out fast
I wasn't born under no bad sign, but it was Friday the 13th
East, west, no, yes
Hot, cold, tell you this
Ain't nothin' in between
Its either good luck -- I'm the last to get it
Bad luck -- I'm the first
When its good, ain't nothin' better
When its bad, ain't nothin' worse

Well life can be a little hard sometimes, you do what you gotta do
A lot depends on the luck a man has and the cards that's been dealt to you
I'd fold this hand if I could or at least take a card or two
I been around
Had my ups and downs
Tell me does it sound little like you
Good luck -- I'm the last to get it
Bad luck -- I'm the first
When its good, ain't nothin' better
When its bad, ain't nothin' worse

Its either good luck -- I'm the last to get it
Bad luck -- I'm the first
When its good, ain't nothin' better
When its bad, ain't nothin' worse

Its either good luck -- I'm the last to get it
Bad luck -- I'm the first
When its good, ain't nothin' better
When its bad, ain't nothin' worse
Good luck, bad luck

HELL YA I LIKE SKYNYRD!

i truly thought me, Crazy and Chris were the only ones on this site that liked them!

rbatson 06-27-2002 12:17 AM

Did you guys hear that Bad Co. has reassembled?? Paul Rogers is the lead singer again! After all these years and I think they reassemble a little while back.. I just read it on the net yesterday. Funny thing is that Brian Howe, one of the lead singers for Bad Co. was playing in Myrtle Bch but I didn't get off work early enough to go see it:mad: At the last minute they announced that the rest of the original members showed up to back him up!! MAN!!! I really hated missing that!!!!:(

Crazy Horse GT 06-27-2002 12:23 AM

paul rodgers back with bad co. thats cool, they were one of my favorites too, i even have an old cassette of paul, with an unknown band, it wont play anymore, it's a great one.:)

Christine, check your messages

Mustangbelle306 06-28-2002 06:52 AM

One of my favorite bands. I just don't like much of the stuff after Ronnie Van Zant passed away :(. Most people just know "Free Bird" and "Sweet Home Alabama" but almost all of their songs are beautiful :)

"I Need You" is one of the few songs that actually touches me; classic rock has a certain passion that mainstream rock doesn't seem to have anymore. I've never been into the hippie **** (which, at least in high school, seemed to be a prereq for listening to the stuff  ) and I think its funny that many teenagers say that it sucks...gee, its not like contemporary rock has its roots there or anything!! Sheeeeeeeeet dawg, you KNOWS I'd rather bees listenin' to some phat Nelly ****, yo :D

Long live southern/classic rock!!!!

PKRWUD 06-28-2002 05:42 PM

Tuesday's Gone will probably always be my favorite, but there are reasons.

Take care,
-Chris

hey rick how about, i need you, on the hunt, as far as seger, live version of turn the page, or roll me away, cya, crazy.:D

rbatson 07-02-2002 01:20 AM

Hey Marty, did you know that he tried to make his stage name Bob Cigar and they changed it to Bob Seger because it would sell better...

kinda like john cougar, now known as mellenhead, or the fa-- formerly known as prince, or was it princess, heheh, see ya.:D

rbatson 07-02-2002 02:48 AM

Marty, I have an issue with John Cougar Mellencamp but like most of his music.. I certainly wouldn't group him and Bob Seger and the Silver Bullit Band with Prince(or whatever his symbol is).

PKRWUD 07-02-2002 03:12 AM

I respect what Mellencamp does, and has to say, but his music doesn't really do anything for me. Seger, on the otherhand, has a very deep, rich soul. I could, and do, listen to him all the time.

:)

Take care,
-Chris

rbatson 07-02-2002 05:15 PM

Sorry Marty, I missed your point last night... I get it:)

Turn the Page is one of my favorites. As is Against the Wind, You Will Accompany Me, and Fire Lake. Jody Girl just reminds me of the old girl I've been fighting and ******* with for the past eight years. Even with all the BS we've been through, she is always there as my best friend.:)

PKRWUD 07-02-2002 05:46 PM

Speaking of which, aren't you supposed to be on your way to new orleans right about now?

:)

Take care,
-Chris

Crazy Horse GT 07-03-2002 12:15 AM

rick i like alot of mellencamp's stuff, but some of it is stupid, he has some great stuff though, seger is the man, prince- shoot that f-g,:D :D, btw way when on a nice summer night & i sit outside by myself, i love to here bob, sing like a rock, but when i hear it on a chevy commercial, i want to barf:eek:

PKRWUD 07-03-2002 01:33 AM

Well put!
