Making fun

What's your favorite car to make fun of?

1969Mach1 05-31-2002 11:33 PM

I like all cars but Honda's. I had to pick the prelude.

Honda's are like tampons, every pussy has one.

Wait! Can I say that on here? But ya gotta admit it's pretty funny. Ladies don't get mad at me, I do appologize if I offended you though. =)

§am.

mustang2002 05-31-2002 11:53 PM

Hey man that was a good one. Yeah Honda's do suck!

1969Mach1 06-01-2002 07:20 AM

hahaha... thanks, I hope I didn't offend anyone. Well let me correct myself. I hope I didn't offend any Mustang owners. Honestly I have nothing agaist Honda's it's just those damn rice boys who try to "Soup" it up, and then try to bs me with there car, and how there going to do there exhaust and intake and have all this power, and I try to tell them what exactly it's going to do but they're to stupid to even know what's going on.

Topless In Texas 06-01-2002 07:47 AM

LMAO!

BWWWWAAAHAHAHHHA!!! Actually, I thought that was quite funny! :D
Yeah, I voted for the Honda as well, but I have a couple of cars high on my Hate list, and I cant help but cringe and make a face when I see them on the road!!!!!!!

PACER
VOLKSWAGON(Specially the slug-bugs!)
PT CRUISER

I know theres more, but I cant think of what they are right now. TNT

mustang2002 06-01-2002 10:18 AM

People who drive a Honda are like a teacher out of work...No Class!!

Mustangbelle306 06-01-2002 01:38 PM

I chose the Viper. Its easy to make fun of an old dude that just shelled out $60K for a car that can be mercilessly spanked by a Mustang or F body with some modifications, and costs 1/4-1/2 (new SS) of the price :D

9/10 Viper drivers are not true performance euthansists. Their car is their mechanical trophy wife. Give me a hooked up F body or Mustang any day!

Belle-
How many Vipers have you driven lately? None around here, it would seem. I like your fantasy-world view of things, but when reality sets in, you'll have lost. Hard.

Take care,

I have to beg to differ on this one!!!! I drove a VIPER last year and that was one bad MOFO!!!!!!! I never got it outta 3rd gear for fear of running over the neighbors mailboxes or taking out the neighbor kids.........

Mmkay...no one said it was ME racing a viper...I don't even race civics darlin...

I'm looking at a 1/4 mile time for a Dodge Viper Venom 550 as 12.6, and a Dodge Viper Venom 600 as 13.3.

http://www.syclone.freeserve.co.uk/rivals_cars.htm

And here I read about a 800 hp TT Viper still running 10s...since most Mustangs are equipped to run the 1/4, its reasonable for me to believe that a Mustang with money invested could compete AND beat an outrageously expensive Viper...even though the Viper would SMOKE IT in 0-60. Doesn't seem very fantasy-like to me. It also mentions that the stock Viper runs a 12.2...I know of plenty Mustangs that would give that snake some good competiition!

http://www.motortrend.com/june01/ttviper/1.html

So my fantasy world seems to be based in someone else's reality. I didn't say a stock Mustang, now did I? I said it would be nicer to spend that $60K on BUILDING a Mustang/Camaro, and racing a STOCK Viper...perhaps you missed that in the first post :)

Mustangbelle306 06-02-2002 11:30 AM

I just wanted to restate (in case it wasn't clear in the previous post) that my comparison was dollar to dollar, car vs. car. Of course, I could spend $8K and buy a stock sportbike that outruns both! But I'm restricting my comparo to creatures of the 4 wheeled steel variety ;)

The older RT/10's really don't impress me much. I went 400mi back from Tucson, AZ to the border of TX with two RT/10's. Neither was a whole lot faster than my 87GT. Few cars in the 1/4 mile maybe. Certainly not a whole lot top end either. The older Viper's top out at 160mph because of serious drag.

The newer one's with the supposed 450hp are a lot faster. I also firmly disagree with the idea a low/mid 12sec car is somehow the be all end all of performance. My 02GT with a twin turbo setup would kill that. A supercharged 96+ Cobra would own that. It's not too hard to make an 11sec car if you have 50k to dump into it. Or 10k for that matter.

Eric4Nitrous 06-02-2002 01:45 PM

Vipers are TOO overpriced! Hell, I'm not scared of a viper!! I eat them as snacks!!

PKRWUD 06-02-2002 01:46 PM

The Viper I see most often (several times a week) is a Carol Shelby signed limited edition. It sounds like a Pro-Stocker. It is one of the fastest cars I have ever seen driven on the street. While it tends to be true that the median age of Viper owners is higher than that of Mustangs or F-bodies, so is the purchase price. Is it worth it?. Most definately. If I had the money to spend on one, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Of course, if I had that kind of money, I would also have a completely restored 69 Judge, and a Boss 429, two of the cars on my "must have before I die" list. The money people spend on a new Mustang could build an incredibly fast Fox body, but some people would rather have a new car, than build an old one.

Take care,
-Chris

TAKEN FROM FR 500 REVIEWS

FR 500 Mustang
415 horsepower @ 6800 rpm
4.6-second 0 to 60 time
12.7-second quarter mile
Top speed is about 175 mph
Performance numbers gained on street tires

Under the hood:

A 4.6-liter, 4V aluminum block, enlarged to 5.0-liter displacement by using spray bore technology.
High-flow 4-valve cylinder heads with more radical cam profiles
Variable geometry magnesium intake manifold
Dual 80mm mass air sensors
Dual 70 mm throttle bodies
High-flow stainless steel tubular headers
Powertrain:

Dual-disc Valeo clutch
Tremec T56 six-speed transmission
Metal matrix composite drive shaft
Torsen TR2 limited slip differential
4.10:1 ratio, 8.8-inch ring and pinion gears

Serious suspension tuning (the wheelbase is extended by 5 inches, for instance) gives the car a 50/50 weight distribution. Much of the body is carbon fiber.Top speed has been estimated at 175 mph. Forget Camaro and Firebird here—these numbers go beyond even the 2000 SVT Cobra R, and put the FR500 right up into the rarefied performance air of Corvettes and Vipers. It would be sad if Ford's Racing Technology group and its Special Vehicle Engineering unit were not working together to make a version of the "Ultimate Mustang" that you can buy off an SVT showroom floor.

Until then, the only way to get your hands on Ford's "Ultimate Mustang" is to wait until Davis' engineers make all of the FR500's components available in the FRPP catalog.

Excellent choice on the Judge, they are gorgeous cars. Especially with the Ram IV package. Persoanlly, MustangBelle and myself are planning to restore a 1966-1967 Chevy Malibu. There's just something about the styling that cannot be replicated in the 70s'-00's.

imports are for preople who don't know how to work on cars, afraid of cubic inches, and like the wheezing fart of 99 horses:D

new gimpala sucks. a bit of coolness as the 94-96 SS RWD.now its a stupid uglified POS
viper is a slick piece of work...for twice the price of an 03 cobra it better be. i'd still be super paranoid about owning one.

ponticass assteck sucks:p
any "pos" rice car (not honda's, toyotas, or mitsu's, nissan) but real "P.O.S's" (kias' daewoos, hyundai's)<- probably the worst cars made by man...ever

0h n0 5.0 06-02-2002 09:33 PM
