![]() Whats funny Chris is I have a friend that was die hard Mac all the way through senior year of high school and now has given up on mac and gone PC. I dont remember exactly what happened but i can remember him being pretty pissed off at his Mac lol. Something about running a server I think but I am not sure.
Macs dont suck but i have just been around PC's all my life and never really had a problem with them ![]() Later, Nick

![]() Here we go again. I like the OSX interface. But please dont compare your 2002 version of MAC OS to Windows 1995.
How fast is your computer? Ditch windows 95, your in the stone age. Seeing has you have 95, your computer is probably deathly slow. Look for a new system atleast 1ghz or better. The slowest ones we sell are 1.7GHZ now and they start at $699.00. Skyler

![]() I just have one word to say *** AMIGA ***
I still miss it ...sniff sniff It had an OS very similar to MAC but it had co-processors for graphics ... it handled graphics faster at 7 MHz than this pc i'm on right now at 500 MHz. ... thats right i said 7 MHz that wasn't a typo lol Its still the backbone of a lot of digital special effects at the smaller cable tv stations. |

![]() Chris, I don't hate macs but I do find windows to make just as much sense as mac os x. It may be because I've been using it for so long. You're example about the hard drive being called a hard drive makes some sense, but what happens when you have multiple hard drives. I have 8 partitions of 20 gigs a piece on my computer, would they all be called hard drive? And how do you get access to the partitions in whatever dos based equivalent macs have?(I still love using dos). I'm sure i've probably shown how little I know about macs in my questions, but that's alright. Maybe if they someday catch up in the mhz race I'll give them a serious look.

![]() DOS. LOL. I will never forget how scared I was the night before I took my DOS 6.22 final exam in my PC repair and networking class! I couldn't sleep! 6 months later after passing my A+ certification exam, I walked by the "DOS tables" in the classroom, and just started laughing at the new students that were freaking out. I wasn't laughing at them, so to speak, but at how they were acting exactly as I had been, and I had come so far since then that DOS seemed like "Pong" probably does to someone with Playstation. Anyway, if it is a window into which you can type your code-specific commands that you enjoy, Mac has what's called "Terminal", which gives you root access into the Unix base of the OS. It doesn't do much for me, as I am much more into a GUI than typed commands, but I am told that Terminal is a true computer geeks best friend. Something about Unix being the "real schit" when it comes to programming and such. ![]() Take care, ~Chris

![]() mac's have a terminal in a unix based system. I'm probably familiar with it already then, as I would guess that the terminal window in linux is fairly similar. Maybe I'll have to look at one more in depth the next time I see one, last time I looked at one I saw it had a one button mouse and I ran the other way.

![]() WOW....?????
I am so surprised to see everyone(almost) getting along about different OS's and computers. Damn this is nice. LxMustangRacer, Mac OSX's Terminal.app is very simular(sp?) to Linux. You would have no problem there at all. It's just the file structure is different. |
