Exclamation Message Board Problem Fixed

Sorry folks. A problem cropped up in the message board system and the post function wouldn't work. It's been down since last night sometime. I only now was able to get it fixed after working on the thing for some time. All should be back to normal now though...

Well, at first I didn't know! It made no sense why when the postings.cgi module was called it only spit out part of the page code. And, nothing had changed with any of the message board program files either. So, I thought maybe something got screwed up with the data files that make up the forums at first. So, I rebuilt and indexed them. No change. So, finally I got onto the box and ran the postings module directly from the command line. When I did I found that the postings.cgi module bombed out with a perl error. Then, I loaded the code into an editor and found where the error was happening. It was on a string search function that had to do with the word censor routine. Then it dawned on me, I had added three additional words to the censor list the night before. Stupid me, I had typed in an elligal character into one of them! It was my own stupid fault... Duh!

See NoSlow50, that's why I usually don't go into drawn out explanations... So, blame it on Fox Body!

Heh heh heh. Thanks Dan, it's cool to get a glimpse of what's going on behind my computer screen and the work that goes into keeping up such an awesome site.

Seems like we got some comedians in the house.
