Has anyone ever thought about the fact that
bottled water actually costs more than gas?
For all the work it takes to refine crude-
oil into gas, you'd think that mineral water
would be 1 cent a gallon! Go figure.
Good thing we don't live in Germany where
premium costs about 6 bucks a gallon!

The difference to me in the prices associated with bottled water and gas is pretty simple. You don't need to buy bottled water, and you use a hell of a lot less of it than gas.

The bottle in bottled water is usually a big part of the expense, but yeah, bottled water is insane. Soft drinks are cheaper.

Gas here is about $1.25/gallon now that they are done price gouging the midwest for a while. I believe an investigation was mentioned again just before prices dropped, again. I don't expect them to be here long. On a side note OPEC has indicated they would like to get together with Mexico and increase production again.

Where's Hayward? Unocal 76 in Ventura (California) is $1.59 for Super Unleaded (even less with a car wash).

Take care

It may cost more for water than gasoline, but people are willing to pay that much for bottled water. If you don't like the price of bottled water, don't buy it! That will then cause the price to decrease. But everyone keeps paying it. If I was selling bottled water and you were willing to pay over a buck for it, I'd sell it to you for that. I'd then use the money to go buy some more gas

Hey PKRWUD,

Hayward is located in Northern Cali, the Bayarea we're about a 40min drive from San Francisco(well that depends on traffic and how fast you drive ). It's very odd because the prices very from city to city up here.

I'm not complaining at the prices all. It just keeps dropping everyday. $1.09 now, it's like that at every gas station around here.

Hey Sky,

Yeah you are correct, i'm like a 15minute drive away from Fremont. The last time I gassed up was on Friday and happen to be at a Chevron in San Ramon, that's where I paid the 2.06 per gallon, but even here in Hayward I pay as much as 1.99 a gallon.

Oh well...

Hey Sky-
There's a new 76 station on Johnson Drive, by Contractors Warehouse. $1.59 for 91.

GTGrl00-
That explains it. I once paid $2.35 a gallon at Pebble Beach (Carmel). Not by choice, either.

Take care
