Mr 5 0 steps down as Admin/Moderator

Unfortunately, Jim Sweeters (aka Mr 5 0) has stepped down as the message board administrator and a moderator on Mustang Works. He's had to devote much more time to other things that have come up in his life during this year, and no longer feels he has adequate resources to devote to keeping up with the task. I've respected his wishes, and the entire Mustang Works staff thanks him for all his hard work and greatly appreciates all he has contributed to the MW community by overseeing the forums.

Although he will no longer be an admin, or moderator, he is still a member of the site. Hopefully he will find some time around recent events and other commitments in his life to visit us from time to time.

RAGE_5.0 09-03-2002 09:28 PM

Jim I hope you still stick around mustangworks because you always had great advise and a level head about every situation.

JAMES

Thanks for spending such a great deal of your time to make our site so much better.
Stick around, and good luck with whatever comes up!

Stang_Crazy 09-03-2002 09:41 PM

Jim, thank you for all of the advise you provided for myself and for the many other stangers out there. Not only did you give excellent advise but many times, you were also the voice of reason on these boards. I hope you stick around or drop in to see us when you have the time.

joe4speed 09-03-2002 09:50 PM

Well I'm surprised, for one, to read this.
Good luck Jim, you've been around ever since I can remember, I know how you can get wrapped up in real life. Stop by and say hi, I hope all goes well with you. Take care. Thanks for all the advice over the years, it has not gone unnoticed.

jj_jonathon 09-03-2002 09:52 PM

I'm sorry to see you go. You're opinions were always looked upon in the highest esteem. Thank you for the effort and time you've contributed from your own life into making this a great site. Sometimes your way with words shone years of knowledge (and entertainment) for the younger members. Thanks again and have fun away from the computer! :)

Skyman 09-03-2002 10:03 PM

I heard rumor of this, Im disappointed to hear that its true, Im sure will still see a good amount of Mr 5.0 around though, right?

Best of luck,

DITTO! I'm really sorry to see its true, and that you are leaving....I for one have enjoyed your posts, and have the utmost respect for you and your advice.

The boards wont be the same...I dont know of anyone else who is so well rounded and knowledgeable about SO MANY different subjects....

You've been a big help to me, and a source of encouragement, and I appreciate all youve done for the forum and for myself as well....:)

Best of luck to you Jim..and I hope that you enjoy your new 'freed-up' time doing something that you really enjoy!!! I do hope you will still be here with us and not just lurk......

Sorry to see that your not moderating the windsor forum anymore, and i hope that we will continue to see your posts on the boards. We'll see if this Dan McClain guy, whoever he is, can do the job as well as you did.:D

Jim.

Regardless of your status at Mustang Works, you are a part of the Family here. Thats all that really matters, not if your a moderator, a administrator, or what ever.

I presume you'll be sticking around and still giving the excellent advice, guidance, and just all round being a good friend.

You are definetly one of the reasons why Mustang Works is the great site that it is.

P.S. Thanks for getting most of my spelling errors throught the years.:p

mustangman65_79 09-04-2002 12:24 AM

It's too bad that u are leaving us. MAny of us looked at u as a father fiqure for that the advice u have given us in the past was golden. Your words spook none truer <--looks wrong?) and were always correct. U will be truly missed and waited apon your arrival to the site again.

95mustanggt 09-04-2002 05:24 AM

Mr. 5.0....Well you were the very first person I got advice from here, and I'm probably not the only one who can say that.

Sometimes just being a member here can take up enough time, I can imagine an Administrator/Moderator takes more yet (except that Hammer guy he's always slacking ;) ).

I'm not sorry to see you go, cause your not, your still going to be a member! :) I don't know how much less time you'll spend on the boards, but if you are anything like me you'll be drawn back here time, and time again.

The site is what it is today largely due to your contributions. Dispite Dan's In-human Efforts, you have helped to create this Fantastic online magazine, for that, I thank you. :)

The RHC Salutes you!

Cam

Good Luck with your situation M r 5.0.

I too have enjoyed your more informative posts, especially the political ones.

silver_pilate 09-04-2002 09:01 AM

Nope 95Mustanggt, you're not the only one.

I remember when I first joined the site way back in the day, Jim was right there to answer some of my first questions.

Jim, you've been very helpful and a great asset to these boards. I hope you'll continue your input and don't be a stranger.

Jim:

I had a feeling you'd leave eventually, you didn't seem to enjoy the position as much as when I first came to MW in early 2001 :(...whether it was the post counting or irritating newbies, I can't say I blame you! ;)

Moderating had to be a full time job for ya! I hope you still poke your head in every once in a while to advise someone, or yell at some stupid liberal/person too lazy to use the Internet "search" function :D ;)

Take care,

Belle

lx mike 09-04-2002 09:56 AM

Jim: will still look for your expert advice and enthusiasm about mustangs here at mustangworks.

Hethj7 09-04-2002 12:05 PM

Well, what more can really be said? Thanks for all the time you put in as a moderator here, Jim.

Just like everyone else, I hope to see you around the boards still. You know you are always part of the MW family!

09-04-2002 02:38 PM

Have alotta respect for you Jim

Jim

First off,I never expected to read this, but at the same time, you have always known when to make a particular descision as you are a very intelligent person, both for real life subjects and as well as Mustang related topics.

I truely enjoyed your posting Jim,I guess I hope you dont make yourself a stranger guy :(

Stay in touch!

DAN-MAN 09-04-2002 07:01 PM

Keep on Rollin' Mr. 50.

Dan.

RBatson 09-04-2002 10:54 PM

You'll be missed

I'm sure that Jim is doing what is right for him but...

The MustangWorks will never be the same without him..

I've seen alot of people come and go but... I just can't believe this ****

Mr 5 0 09-06-2002 10:02 AM

Thanks

Thank you all for the words of appreciation; they mean a lot to me.

I've enjoyed my time as a staffer on Mustang Works but as the site grows, the time needed to do the job right has become more than I can spend at this time due to family and other obligations.

No one is indispensible and I know that MW will continue to expand and improve under Dan's leadership. I'm pleased to have been a part of the site and to have done what I could for other Mustangers over the years. We've had our ups and downs but in all, it was a great learning experience for me and I value the time spent and friends made here.

Although I'm stepping down as Administrator/Moderator I'll still be around occasionally- as well as popping up on other forums, other sites. I've never been known to keep my opinions to myself so that won't change, even if I no longer have the responsibility of day-to-day messageboard operations here.

Thanks once again for the support and good wishes.

Jim

Awwww man!

Anyway, you've served here quite some time and we're happy you did. Thanks for the time you served and taking the time to reply to many or our posts with your thoughtful, intelligent advice. We'll miss you as an administrator, but look forward to seeing you as just on us plain old, regular, decrepped members (:D).

Shelby428cj 09-06-2002 07:33 PM

Good Luck Jim don't forget about us!!!!!!!;)

See Ya,
Karen:p

induction 09-06-2002 08:57 PM

Best of luck with everything Jim, when are ya gonna come back and run things? Your advice is still needed on the boards.

PKRWUD 09-06-2002 09:52 PM

Wow. I go out of town for a week, and come back to this. This really sucks, but i do completely understand. Jim, although we have had differences of opinion over the years, I have always considered you to be one of the "good guys", and among the most helpfull members here. It certainly won't be the same without you here on a regular basis, but hopefully that won't be the case. I wish you nothing but the best in your life, Jim, and hope that you'll come back here as often as you can.

Thanks for all your help!

Take care,
~Chris

Rev 09-08-2002 11:57 AM

Thanks

Jim, I just got back from a weeks vacation, and so just now saw the announcement. I know that you always said that you might retire from the administrator/moderator position some day, but I was still a little surprised.

I just want to say thanks for all of the time and effort that you have invested in MW over the years. I know it must have taxed your free time to a geat extent and that it was quite a responsibility.

I wish the best for you and your family and look forward to seeing your posts as a regular member of MW.

Rev
