yeah, your right, thier trucks arent as good as thier cars. I guess its experience, and they dont have it when it comes to full size trucks.

By the way, my little sisters' Focus dropped a valve and blew the engine last night... just a tick over 100k.

I can tell you right now, she'll never own another Ford, and that folks, is how Ford gets a bad quality rep.

It's honestly not all that funny. They're moving this weekend, and she's expecting in a couple months so they really don't have money to throw at these types of problems. Nice that it occured one month after her last car payment.

Just as an FYI, all the scheduled maintanence, including oil changes at 3k have been done since it was brand new.

Re: Mustang Loyalty

Aren't pick up trucks almost always light in the rear end due to their payload carrying needs? I've never seen one that would get a good launch without modifications meant to optimize traction at the expense of "truck-like" functions (Lightning comes to mind).

Spinning tires doesn't mean fast, whether stock or modded. It just means wasted power that could have been put towards forwad motion (acceleration).

Re: Mustang Loyalty

they are light in the rear because theres nothing there, just a empty shell for a bed. Not because of their payload carrying needs.

traction aiding devices do nothing to hurt the payload capability . why would they? traction bars dont take away from the beds ability to carry cargo.

Re: Mustang Loyalty

The suspensions on pick up trucks are designed to function best with the truck loaded with 1000-2000 lbs. in the bed. That's what trucks do, carry a payload. Poor traction in an unloaded condition is just a necessary trade off for that ability to haul stuff. That should seem fairly obvious from my point of view. Not that I don't like trucks, I couldn't live without one.
