Post Mustang Parts Specialties

I noticed on a recent post that someone said Mustang Parts Specialties ripped them off. What are your experiences with MPS. I'm asking because I am about to call them about a few parts. Please let me know quickly, before I call. Thanks.

I bought a fiberglass hood from them. No problems. They even let me exchange it because I wanted a smaller cowl size after I bolted it on.

I did get the impression that they wouldnt hesitate to take advantage of a unknowledgable young kid or something, but just about anybody in the car business will do that.

No, MPS is located in Winder, Georgia. Like I said, I noticed the negative post a few days ago, but I can't seem to find it now. Thanks for the information. Hey Mach 1, who manufactures their fiberglass hoods? Are you happy with the fit and finish of your cowl??

I have purchased a few small used parts from them. I didn't have any complaints and the lady I dealt with on the phone (several times-there was a problem with my credit card) was vert pleasant. I'm planning on ordering twp window motors and regulators from them soon as well.

Got an alternator for FrankenRanger there, it was no good and I ended up buying a new one from Ford (YIKE$). They wouldn't take it back, saying it worked when the shipped it (yeah, the shaft froze in shipment). Then it took 3 trys to get a functional belt tensioner for FrankenRanger. To their credit, they exchanged these no questions asked, but I would have hoped that the inspection process would have been better (the two broken ones showed cracks in the arm before I even put tension on them). The current one seems to be surviving, even pulling the 8 PSI Kenne Bell blower.

By the way, the tensioner is about the only 2nd hand part on the truck, if you're interested in buying it.

Hope this helps.

I bought a multifunction switch from them. They won't return my emails, and when i have gotten through on the phone they say i can't return it. The multifunction switch i bought was THE WRONG ONE, and they told me there's NO RETURN on electrical items. I also bought some new interior door bezels ($30 for both) and guess what.....they are BOTH CRACKED, and they're supposed to be NEW.
The good things about them is that they package small stuff well and have clear documentation, but the customer service sucks in my opinion.
I also heard a guy on this site that bought a rear disc brake conversion from them that was incomplete, dirty and rusty. It was used though, so i guess that's what you could sorta expect.
All in all, i won't raise a stink about it, but i warn anybody not to take the risk of buying anything from them because their new prices are kinda higher than better places like Year One Mustangs, Mustangs unlimited, Summit Racing, etc. and their used parts just plain blow in quality.
I usually buy small stuff from a place before doing major orders and i'm just glad that i found out what a sh/tty place Mustang parts specialties is.
I highly advise not to buy from them, but it's your decision.

- I forgot to mention the Multi-function switch i bought was a skinnier, different design one that the one for my car and i even gave them the specs on my car, and yet they still won't let me return it

I have never had a bad experience with them... They once sent me a wrong part and it was cleared up with complete professionalism. Good company, in my opinion...

RMARIANI - The hood has KAENEN as the name stamped on it. I think they make them in house. It has excellent fit and qaulity. I highly recommend the hood. I think its cervini quality but not cervini price.
