Mercury 12-25-2001 02:27 AM

Would I get flogged if I drove up in a certian females Red 2001 Trans AM WS-6, and left the Stangs at home. :D

I wouldnt do that.

6T9PONY 12-25-2001 03:08 AM

We'd probably give you a little crap Mercury, but all in good fun. We're your friends. What are we for? hehe....

Maybe I'll email Dan real quick. I haven't seen one of his posts lately, so he must be real busy.

I'll get back to you all!

69fastback 12-25-2001 08:24 AM

I defenitly think we need to rent a track. that would be awesome. I would luv to race some of u. MM & FF should cover the meet too. I know supper stallions of the net or something like that had a thing like this and they covered it.

rbatson 12-25-2001 10:01 AM

The corral has a "Corral Day" every year. They have it in Bowling Green, I think(same place they had CyberBrawl). They rent a track, from what I remember. Too bad they didn't have CyberBrawl, I was looking forward to going.

I'd like to go to some big get together to meet you guys, it would really need to be at a track. It would definitely have to have a Hooters near by!:D

I just wonder what it would cost me in fuel... I filled the tank up here and went to Fayetteville(2 hrs away) and when I got to were I was going I had burnt almost 3/4 of a tank:(

Craig Detroit 12-25-2001 02:11 PM

Where to meet?

From reading this whole thread, I am getting the impression that many people are hesitant about meeting in Kansas. Its geographically in the center of the US.... but it puts it out of reach of much of the population (which resides more toward the coasts)....

So, what if there are 2 regional meets? One West and One East?

West region meets in Nevada (Vegas?) in June?

East region meets in Virginia in August?

I think this makes it more of a one day drive for most people.... and more in the $50 total gas range.

What do you guys think?

1BAD89 12-25-2001 02:22 PM

Na that won't work, if your going to do that then you might as well have 3 of them. Vegas, Virginia? Well most of the people that want to do this arent even 21, so Vegas would...well not be that fun. Virginia is really far from us people in the middle of the US. I personally wouldn't go to either, especially in Virginia... I couldn't take the truck either... :( But I know the people from CA are not going to drive to kansas, Oklahoma, Etc....so 3 events seem more logical, but I don't see 3 events happening.

Stang Runner 12-25-2001 06:48 PM

I think Missouri would be better for many of the guys That Live on the east cost And not to far for the guys from TX.
should see how many might came and where they live to help deside it better

DRASTiK 12-25-2001 11:32 PM

I like Craig's idea. Of course that's probably just because still be in Cali in June, but I'll be going to Va in late July so I could attend both meets.:D

6T9PONY 12-26-2001 01:51 AM

I think we should throw out Kansas after I've thought about it more. I think it should definitely be in Oklahoma, either in Tulsa or Okey City.

If we're going to do separate meets, we need to have 3. Not 2. Midwest, East, and West.

mustangdani55 12-26-2001 09:21 AM

INDY INDY INDY.. DO IT IN INDY
everything you could ever want is in indy ..even indianapolis raceway park.. c'mon do it in indy.....

6T9PONY 12-26-2001 07:44 PM

If you're boss would give me a 408 Windsor long block for free then we could possibly do it in Indianapolis.....hmmmm?

6T9PONY 12-26-2001 09:10 PM

5 PAGES!!! WOW!!! I think this is the longest thread I've ever seen on MW.com!

Nice job guys!

Need more input though! I know there's more members hiding out there!

Unit 5302 12-26-2001 09:11 PM

It makes the most sense to hold the event near Des Moines, IA, or Oklahoma City. The reason being is the crossing of major interstates. I35 and I80/I40. I80 travels east to the coast, and I40 west. Kansas is very much nothing but grassland. I should know.. I've been through there several times. Des Moines and Oklahoma City are about 400 miles apart I believe, which adds time to the other side. It's quite difficult to drive that kind of distance under any time bind. I made it from Minneapolis to Phoenix in 26hrs with 2 - 1 hour naps, but I'm not normal, LOL!

Topless In Texas 12-26-2001 09:15 PM

Just thought I'd try!!!!! :D

How bout Baytown, at Houston Raceway Park???? hhehehehehehe.........Cant blame me for tying can you???? :D :p

6T9PONY 12-26-2001 09:18 PM

Hey Unit....haven't seen you around much....how's it going?

That's a good point. I did think of Iowa at first too, but I think it's a little too far east for our westerners on the board. But they could take I80 the WHOLE way....they could pick me up on the way too....I live in Sidney, NE....it's right on I80 in the Nebraska panhandle.....everyone could stop and shop at Cabela's while they were here too!

Oklahoma City is still the best place in my opinion. But the point about being on I80 is a good one, Des Moines is a close #2. Des Moines is even a little closer to me I think. Maybe not.

Thanks for the input Unit.

98stangergirl 12-26-2001 09:24 PM

well guys and gals. i would love to go. im in jacksonville florida so let me know when and where. just not too far

1969Mach1 12-26-2001 09:28 PM

Woh this is a really long thread.

Here is an idea. Have it in Canada. lol ohh man I kill myself. I don't think half of you Americans locate us on the map. lol I'm not making fun of you just sadly to say there are alot of Americans that don't know where Canada is. lol Gotta love those southern folks. =)

rbatson 12-26-2001 09:31 PM

I40 starts in Wilmington, NC and ends in Barstow, Cali. There is a sign that says 2655 miles(something like that) to Barstow Cali. on the outskirts of town.

I really like the idea of meeting up at WFC though, that sounds like a winner to me.. or maybe one of the FFWs.

The corral has a good turn out every year but they have alot more 'active' members. The turn out for mustangworks might not be as great as you guys think. I really don't think there would be enough active members here to do 3 or even 2 meets. If it were say... Maple Grove(daddy of all events) then... I think you would see a bigger turn out.

All mustangworks members getting rooms at the same motel(at a big event).. that would be a great idea, but everyone would have to book early..

I think they should have cyberbrawl again or maybe we should start it... THAT would KICK ICE!!

I will be at Bradenton, Fla for spring break(will every year:)). I have the whole month of July off, you guys name the place and I'll do my best to be there..

No, I am pretty sure the longest thread was the one I started, remember 13.7, blah,blah.... anyway it got up to like 160+replys before it was deleted.

tireburner163 12-26-2001 10:52 PM

Hey 6T9 Pony did you ever get a hold of Dan. I think we should form a committe on the matter. All the Modorators and 6T9 Pony(since he came up with the idea) could be on the commitee, which would be headed by Dan. They could meet in that little "secret":D modorator room that no ones allowed into. They could decide where to hold it, when it will be, and other details.

1969Mach1 12-26-2001 11:19 PM

We should all have a serious thread on where the best place for it to be located, such as get everyone’s location that is attending and figure out where the most members are coming from and go from there. And then it'd take alot of planning, such as a location, accommodation, and sponsors if you can get them. Lots of stuff.

But it'd be pretty damn cool to meet all you guys and girls.
.

6T9PONY 12-27-2001 12:14 AM

I did write a long email to Dan on Christmas day. I haven't heard back from him yet, but that's expected, since it was Christmas and all.

I don't think I ever saw that thread 1BAD89, when did you post it?

That's a good point by rbatson, there aren't all that many active members here, so to have separate meets just wouldn't be near as cool!

tireburner163, I like your idea about forming a committee, and having ME as a member. Mainly because then I could go into their little room and see what the heck that talk about!!!:D

We'll see what Dan says when he checks his email and writes me back!

It's been about 4 months ago.

ed1371 12-27-2001 12:48 AM

I will trailer my vert to where-ever is decided the meet will be as long as we have a track to go to. I hope it goes better than the "meets" we have tried in the past over here on the left coast...(everyone says they are "in" but on game day, is nowhere to be found)

Regional idea is ok, but if a national meet is whats going to happen, middle of the country is good with me.

6T9PONY 12-27-2001 12:56 AM

I hear ya Ed. I definitely don't want this to be a "Sure, ok." kind of thing and then not show up. I want people to show up with some FIRE!! Get some grudge races going on! Have some fun, with EVERYONE!!! Not like 10 people. That'd piss me off.

Anyone have opinions on the Des Moines/Oklahoma City idea?

1BAD89 12-27-2001 01:00 AM

Oklahoma City! We gotta start talking a date, because I want to get everything worked out if you know what I mean,;)

Unit 5302 12-27-2001 01:05 AM

Hosting in OKC makes it a very long drive for those people in say... NY/NJ. I hate NJ. (If you know me, then you know plenty of reasons why I hate that state, lol)

I think a regional meeting would be by far the best. OKC, since so many of our members are in Texas. A California meeting, and probably something in say... North Carolina? People would have a legitimate ability to attend two. The central meet could bring people from the West, East, and Central... but, this needs to be a bit more organized. ;)

6T9PONY 12-27-2001 01:05 AM

Ok. Let's agree on a month. I say all of June and July. And maybe first week or two of August. May is too early for us youngins, we still have SCHOOL!

I think mid to late June would generally work good for about everyone. June 14-16 (Friday-Sunday), 21-23, and 28-30.

What do you all think?

6T9PONY 12-27-2001 01:06 AM

We're working on it Unit.....we haven't even gotten Dan involved yet!

rbatson 12-27-2001 01:22 AM

Topless In Texas 12-27-2001 01:35 AM

OK TO OK!

I'D GO TO OKLAHOMA!!!! :D (if that matters at all!)

Capri306 12-27-2001 01:37 AM

!!!!

Okay, here's an idea for y'all to think about. Since there's MustangWorks members across this country (and others!), mebbe we should have it at a couple of places, at the same time??? Hell, we could video conference the whole event LIVE if we wanted to, I guess. HAHA! Imagine that! Both events at drag strips thousands of miles apart, single cars running down each dragway, and the results (winner & loser) over the web! :D Oh well, just an idea, eh? Shoot, we get too lazy about these events, NO ONE's going to want to leave home! ;)

I think by far that the best idea so far is to have this at an event that is already planned by someone, like Fun Ford Weekend or NMRA. I mean, if we were to have a git-together in, say Norwalk or Columbus....mebbe even BG or Texas? I dunno, but if Dan is cool with setting a time & place, I would be the first staff member of MustangWorks to go!!! Heck, if we're covering the events again like we did last year (the ONLY online magazine to offer LIVE, STREAMING coverage of FFW & NMRA!), who knows what we can do. Whatever happens, I WILL be there! :D

yah, i think thats a great idea too (because i came up with it :D)

But you know what, I vote for INDY as well. IRP is a great track if prepped well. Heck they hold the NHRA nationals there every year.

Dan where are you? we need your input

6T9PONY 12-27-2001 03:26 AM

rbatson....hmmm....I sense some tension between you and the Dan Man.....

Ok, Capri, if you supply the gadgets, then I'll think about doing it that way.....hehe.....:D ;) :p

That's a good idea about doing it at a planned even. Anyone have locations and dates of some of these events?

I'd say the first week of July to insure everyone is out of school and can get over there (Where ever it is located) and did no one like my idea of putting it in Canada? :D

Crazy Horse GT 12-27-2001 11:36 AM

lol you joke about it but some of you can't locate us. lol And yes we are to freaking cold but in the summer it was really nice. We went like 3 weeks without rain and when it did rain it hardly rained. And we've only had like a inch in total of snow this year. And that wasn't all at 1 time. Thanks to Global Warming we'll be nice and warm from now on. =) hehehe.....

6T9PONY 12-27-2001 05:59 PM

I don't think any of those times/places are what we're looking for. Any other events going on?

Mercury 12-28-2001 01:14 AM

Heres a suggestion that might make things alittle easier on those who are seriously thinking on attending. Set up rallying points with other members in your area.

For example, it might be easier on some of us (Who have no sense of direction, like myself), and safer for us if...say for example, Rbatson, Bri32z, Crazy Horse, and Big White Cobra (Havent heard from him in a while) and any other Southern member meet up at certian points and follow one another there, and pick up others in a trail of mustangs.

Not sure if I'm making any sense, I have a tremondous head ache.

1BAD89 12-28-2001 01:16 AM

Like big Mustng convoy, sounds awesome, maybe some races on the way?;)

90LxDroptop 12-28-2001 03:10 AM

That sounds so damn sweet. I wish I could attend, it'd be nice to see everyone that I talk to...But yeah reality check...I'm 16.lol I dont' think I can last the drive..I live in arlington heights IL....it's very North illinois...neways...I hope this goes down guys...and tell everyone how it was! later!
